Stamp Camp - September 24th

We had so much fun at the last Stamp Camp that everyone wanted to do another one! So, join Linda and me at our next event on Saturday September 24, from 9am to 4pm at Hope Lutheran Church.  Make 8 Christmas cards (two of each design pictured above) for $15.  You can make extras of these and/or other cards for all occasions for only $1.50 per card. Come and go as you please throughout the day. Prepay to make sure we have supplies for you to make these cards.  Pay $10 at the door and make 5 cards plus $1.50 for each extra card you make.  There will be food, chocolate, and door prizes! Remember to bring your favorite adhesive. We will have the SNAIL adhesive and refills for sale that day. As always, bring a friend!

Ben's Camp Card

This is a card I sent to Ben while he was away at Boy Scout camp earlier this summer.  My sister and downline, Donna, helped me figure out how to cut and fold the cardstock to make the tent.  I paper pieced the bear using different shades of brown cardstock.  The sleeping bags were stamped on patterned paper and then cut out. Real twigs and hemp twine add the finishing touch!  Thanks for stopping by!

I DID IT!!!

I have been trying to post this photo for a few weeks, now, but I was having all kinds of problems with Blogger.  Emily has been away most of the summer, and the week she was home we just didn't have time to sit down and figure out what I was doing wrong.  Then, the other night I had an idea of what the problem could be.......today I finally had time to play......and, yes, I did figure it out...........all by myself!  Yeah, me!

Anyway, this is the 8th card from the Christms in July workshop Linda and I held at our church last month.  It is a shaker card, made using a treat cup from the Stampin' Up catalog.  It was one of the crowd favorites!  We had so much fun, that Linda and I are already planning another event on Saturday September 24th.  This time we will be meeting in the church's Fellowship Hall and we will have food!  So save the date, make plans to joing us, and keep checking back for more details.

Christmas In July Stamp A Stack - Part 2

This is the 4th card that I designed for the Christmas in July Stamp-a-Stack I am co-hosting with Linda Taylor on July 23.  Like all of my cards, it is SUPER EASY to make.  This one uses the Jolly Jingles Jumble Wheel.

Linda designed these cards for our Stamp-a-Stack on July 23 at Hope Lutheran Church.  The smaller card is actually a gift card holder.  It's really cute, and a clever design that you will want to copy for any occasion.

This is another card designed by Linda.  She used the new Lace Ribbon Border punch.  LOVE IT!  You may not be able to see them, but each card has rhinestones on it.  If you RSVP and pre-pay for the Stamp-a-Stack by Sunday July 17th - you will get a FREE package of rhinestones to use on your cards.

Please contact me with any questions and to RSVP.

By the way, I completed this post without any help from my children!  Goes to prove, you can teach an old dog new tricks!  Now I may be able to post on a more regular basis.  I made a SUPER CUTE card to send to Ben at camp.  Check back in a day or two to see it!

You're Invited to "Get the Scoop"

I usually try to send handmade invitations to my annual "Get the Scoop" event, but I have been super busy and just haven't had the time.  I just got back yesterday from visiting family in PA for a few days (after taking Emily to catch her flight to Costa Rica.)  When I got home, there were THREE boxes of Stampin' Up goodies waiting for me.  I made this card using the stamp set "Pennant Parade" from the new Idea Book and Catalog.  I also used one of the new punches to cut out the triangles for the cones.

Consider this your (not so ) personal invitation to stop by my house on Saturday morning - anytime between 10-4 or Sunday between 1-4.  I will have copies of the new catalog for you to look at, and you will be able to make a few projects using new stamp sets, card stock, ink and accessories from the new catalog.  I also have some fun games for you to play.  Free goodies for attending!

This event is FREE and no purchase is necessary; although this will be your last chance to order retiring stamps and accessories from the 2010-2011 catalog.

Please visit my Stampin Up website (click on the link below or the link in the left side margin) and RSVP, so I will have enough supplies for everyone to make all the projects.  Contact me if you need directions to my house.

My First "Solo" Post

Emily will be leaving on her first (of three) summer trips in 6 days! She has been giving me a crash course in blogging……..and this is the first post I did entirely on my own. Hopefully she will have time to teach me a few more tricks before she leaves.  (As you can see in the picture above, I need to learn how to crop the photos.)

These cards were made using the new “Strength & Hope” stamp set from the summer mini catalog. From now through August 31, Stampin’ Up! will donate $2 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation every time someone purchases this set. At our May stamp club meeting, members could choose which of these cards they wanted to make.  The "Blushing Bride" pink card was the favorite of most ladies.  The butterfly card was a close second, with two club members changing the color scheme from Poppy Parade to Rose Red and Rich Razzleberry.

The last two cards were made using Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, and Early Espresso cardsock and inks.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Contact me if you would like to order this set.

May Club Card #1

This card was made using the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch. This is a really cool punch from the new summer mini catalog. This punch has three settings: one punches a solid flower shape, the second punches a smaller flower and a thin flower outline/ring, and the third setting punches a detailed flower piece. It is fun to mix the different shapes. Brads, buttons, and pearls add a finishing touch. Here are some of the cards my club members made. (I didn’t remember to take photos at all of the meetings- sorry!)

Don't forget you have until the end of June to purchase retiring stamp sets and accessories.

You can order directly from my online store.  Don’t forget to check the clearance rack for more great deals while you are there. You can also contact me to place your order.

Now for a project…………….

This was one of the cards and bonus projects my club members made at our May meeting.

This is a quick and easy card made using the builder wheels found in the summer mini catalog. It is easy to mass produce if your child has several teachers! My club girls also made a bookmark using a giant paper clip, the Tart and Tangy stamp set, and several punches. (The smallest oval punch used on this card is on the Last Chance list!) The Tart andTangy set was one of the sets I demonstrated at my very first workshop – over 3 years ago and is now about to retire. Here are some other projects I made using this set:

Stamp Club Projects

I am trying to finalize the projects we will be making at our stamp club meetings this month and decided it was about time I showed what we made LAST month.  These are 3x3 cards, each one made using one of the stamps from the Sale-A-Bration set “Punch Bunch.”   (You can get this set for FREE, with a $50 purchase, but only through the end of this month.) I LOVE stamp sets that work with our punches! We also used the Big Shot to add texture to three of the cards.  I don’t know what I would do without my Big Shot!  Contact me if you are interested in learning more about my stamp clubs.  First time guests are always free!  Come and have a morning, afternoon, or evening of fun and earn FREE STAMPIN’ UP! merchandise at the same time.
