Merry Christmas!

This is the Christmas card our family sent this year.  Do you see that the gingerbread men are on a cookie sheet?!  If you came to one of my Stamp Camps this summer or fall you have already seen this card and made it yourself!  It uses my favorite set from the Holiday Catalog - Scentsational Season and the coordinating Framelit dies.  From the information I received from Stampin' Up! -  it looks like this set will not carry over, and won't be available after January 2.

Here is another card that the Girl Scouts made at their Holiday Card making event, using the same set:

Hershey's Tree

This is a little treat that I made for the teachers that I work with.  It is made using Hershey's Kisses and Hershey's Nuggets.  My 8th grade son agreed to take one of these to each of his core teachers.......and he NEVER lets me send in special treats for them!  So I guess he thought they were pretty cool!  If you would like to learn how to make little treats like this, you should think about coming to one of my stamp club meetings!  We usually make 2 cards and some sort of "3D" item, like this candy tree.

Holiday Card Making with the Girl Scouts - part 1

Last month I organized a Holiday Card Making event for the Girl Scouts in our area.  Sixty-six girls and 30+ leaders/parents made over 200 Thanksgiving and Christmas cards which were donated to Meals on Wheels for their holiday meal trays.  Everyone had a fun time and I am sure the people receiving the cards will enjoy the special  messages the girls wrote inside each card.  This card was made with retired stamp sets.  But the layout could be copies using the Frosty Friends Stamp Set (item #128117; $11.95) on page 9 of the current Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog.  CONTACT ME if you would like to purchase any Stampin' Up! supplies.  Most items from the holiday catalog will only be available through January 2.

Don't forget about my Christmas Card Contest.  See THIS POST to get the details.  You could win a FREE STAMP SET!!!

Stop back tomorrow to see another card that the Girl Scouts made.

More Contest Cards and the Winner!

If you have been following my blog, you know that I have been having a contest each month for club members.  I give them each the same supplies and see what they can come up with for the next meeting.  This is Nancy F's card.  You probably can't tell, but she used Crystal Effects on the wings to make them shiny.  I love how she stamped the birds along the bottom of the card.  A cute card ready for any occasion!

This is the Diane's card. I love all the details in this card: sponging, tearing, punching, and stamping, of course.  Great use of color, too.

And now for this month's winner.  I think my club members want me to chose my favorite card, but that would be too hard for me to do.

So I chose the winner using http://www.random.org/

And this month's winner is................................................

Anna

Just like last month, this is the only way I am announcing the winner.  Congratulations, Anna.  You can choose a gift from the basket at our next club meeting - just let me know that you have read this post!

Check back tomorrow for the contest I am having for the month of December.  You don't have to be a club member to enter!

November Contest part 2

This is the card that Anna made for this month's club contest.  The only rules I have for the contest are to use the supplies I provide and any other Stampin' Up! products they may have at home.  At first I thought Anna didn't use the More Mustard card stock I provided, until I opened the card and saw that she used it on the inside.  Very clever, and a  really cute Christmas card.

Come back tomorrow to see the last two contest entries and to find out who is this month's winner!

November Club Contest

Each month I have a contest for my stamp club members.  It is a way to keep them stamping between our monthly meetings and I always enjoy seeing their creativity in using the supplies I give them.  This time they had a Crumb Cake card base and scraps of Old Olive, More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White card stock.  This is the card that Linda H. made.  Love it!

This is the card that Connie made.  I love all the details she used in making this card.  Very creative!

November Club Project 3

This was a SWAP card that I received at a Stampin' Up! demonstrator meeting last month and the inspiration for the second card we made at my club meetings this month.

I changed it a little bit by using a different stamp/coordinating framelit and a greeting from the Word Play stamp set.  This card uses the new Core'dinations Card Stock from the 2012 Holiday Catalog.  After we embossed the card stock using the Big Shot, we used Stampin' Up!'s sanding system to give it the distressed look.

November Club Project 2

This is a card that I received at the Stampin' Up! convention this summer.  It was made by my up line, Martha Armstrong, and everyone who sees it wants to know how it was made.  So after a team meeting last month where she explained how she made it, I gave it a try.

This was the result!  I made my card much simpler, so it would be easy to complete at a club meeting.  It was a fun technique and everyone's card turned out beautifully!  We cut a stencil using one of the labels framelets, and sponged on the color using several colors of ink.  Then we stamped the solid image using Stazon ink.

November Club Project 1

This was the "3D" project we made at my club meetings in November.  It is a little gift box made with the Fancy Favor Die.  We made these using fall colors, but if you used Christmas colors, they would make a great way to package a small gift this holiday season.  They would also be great for party favors.

Sweet Technique

This card was made using a really "sweet" technique created and demonstrated by Liz Haddon at a meeting I went to the last month with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  It may be hard to see from my photo, but the candy canes are shiny and the white area behind the candy canes is sparkling with glitter.  She came up with  a really clever technique that I can't wait to show my Stamp Club members.  CONTACT ME NOW If you would like to join in the fun and stamp with me!

Triple Time Stamping

This  is a card I made when I got together with some other Stampin' Up! demonstrators the other weekend.  The technique is really easy, with WOW results.  After making this card, I finally broke down and bought the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and coordinating Framelits Dies.  They are both found in the Holidy Catalog and will be available through January 2, 2013.  Contact me now if you would like to learn how to make this card, or if you need more information about Stampin' Up!  CLICK HERE if you would like to see my upcoming events or if you would like to place an order.

Candlelight Christmas

This was one of the "Make & Takes" that I made at a recent meeting with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  It uses the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper (#126901- $12.95) that you can find in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  This DSP is so much prettier in real life!  The stamped greeting is from the "Delightful Dozen" stamp set found on p. 140 of the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog.

Santa Tag

This is a cute little tag I made when I got together with some other Stampin' Up! demonstrators last weekend.  It is made using one of the the new ornament framelits.  There are a lot of details - but it would make a nice gift tag for someone special on Santa's "nice" list.

October Club Contest - part 4

This was Nancy M's entry in October's stamp club contest.   I love how she used Designer Series paper for the base of the card.  I started the club contest to get my stampers stamping in between our club meetings.  I could never choose a favorite card........so I used http://www.random.org/  to choose the winner.  And this month's winner is..........................

Card # 1  Nancy F.

October Club Contest - part 2

This is Anna's entry into our monthly club contest. I am not sure which stamp this is - I think it must be retired because I could not find it in the current catalogs.  I was surprised when I saw this finished card because Anna usually DOES NOT like to color the images!  It is another really pretty card that someone would be happy to receive.  Two more contest entries to go and then I will reveal the winner!

October Club Contest - part 1

This month's club contest was to make a shadow box card similar to the Halloween card we made at our September meeting.  This is Nancy's card.  She planned to punch out the ornament and hang it in the opening, but she waited until the night before our meeting to make her card.!   I think it is still a very pretty card that anyone would like to receive.  If you would like to join in the fun of stamping CONTACT ME NOW

October Club Card #2

This is the second card we made at my October Stamp Club meetings.  In addition to using ribbon (a chance to try out those awesome Craft Scissors) I wanted to show my club members a new techniques called Double Texture Embossing.  If you look closely you will see that we used the Perfect Polka Dots Folder and the Big Shot to emboss the card front.  Then we used one of the Designer Frames Folders and the Big Shot to emboss the little frame.  There is a trick to doing this, so CONTACT ME  if you would like to learn how to do this on your projects!  Learning little tricks like this is one of the benefits of being part of my stamp club. Ask me how you can  join and earn FREE Stampin' Up! products.

October Club Card #1

This was the first card we made at our October Stamp Club meeting.  I finally purchased Stampin' Up!'s Craft Scissors (#108360 - $29.95) and wanted my club members to see how well they cut ribbon.  This card is very easy to make, but is a WOW card to receive.  The flowers are made using Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. We also used the Big Shot and Designer Frames Folders (#123130 -$8.95) to make the little oval embossed area on the card.  You may not be able to see it, but we did some paper piercing on this card using one of the grids from the NEW Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack (#126187 - $7.95).  CONTACT ME if you would like to make this card or if you would like more information about my Stamp Clubs.

October's 3D Project

This was the 3D project we made at my October stamp club meetings.  It is a pumpkin made using Pumpkin Pie and Vellum card stock. We used the Big Shot to give the card stock texture before cutting into strips to make the pumpkin.  An electric tea light sits inside to make the pumpkin glow.  I think it would make a great favor for Thanksgiving Dinner.  This project was a hit with everyone who attended a club meeting this month.  I saw this project on Stampin' Connection - a website just for Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  CONTACT ME if you would like more information about my stamp clubs, or if you would like to learn how to make this cute little pumpkin.

Wish Me Luck!

I just entered my "rubber room" in the local newspaper's DIY Contest.  I know my craft room is not beautiful, but it is functional and a fun place to spend time.  I am hoping to win in either the Best Low Budget Project OR Best Room Over the Garage.  I still can't believe that Emily gave up this huge room for the tiniest bedroom in the house.  Here is the only "Before" photo I could find of the room.

Now that my room is somewhat clean, I better get busy designing this month's stamp club projects.  CONTACT ME if you would like to learn more about my clubs and classes!

Two More Entries and the Winner!

I challenged my Stamp Club Members to make a card using the same supplies (green card base, white piece of card stock, ribbon, and button.)  This is Anna C's card.  I love monochromatic cards and Anna used one of my favorite stamp sets to make her card.  I hardly ever use buttons on my cards because I do not know what to do with them, but here is another simple but striking use of the button.  (See my last blog post for two other contest entries.)

These three photos show the card that Diane B. submitted for the contest.  She is always coming up with creative ideas.  She used the button on the front of the card as a door knob.  When you open the door, you see the cat and spider stamped on a mixture of sponged colors.  Then the entire card opens up to reveal more stamped images and sponging.  And, yes. that is a lollipop treat on the front of the card.

I could not choose the "best" card, so I had Cliff draw a name at random to choose the winner of the contest.  And that person is..............

Linda H.

She will choose a product from my gift basket at our next club meeting in October.  And by the way, Linda is one of my very creative down line!

As always contact me if you want to join in the fun!

Stamp Club Contest

I gave these supplies to my stamp club members who were up to the creative challenge of using them to create a card.  They had to use these supplies and any other Stampin' Up! products to complete the card.  I had 4 members take the challenge and the following photos are two of the their fabulous creations.

This is the card that Nancy M. made.  She used my favorite 2012 Sale-a-Bration stamp set.   I love the punched flower accent with the button center.

This is the card that Linda H. made.  I love all the details she put on the card; especially the flowers that pop off the card.  Another creative use for the button!

I will post the other two cards on Wednesday.  Check back to see them and to find out who won the contest!  If you would like to join in the fun, come to one of my Stamp Club Meetings in October.   Or CONTACT ME about having a private party with you and your friends!

September Club Projects

This was the first project we made in Stamp Club this month.  It is a tile card - an easy technique with WOW results.   First we scored the white piece of card stock, stamped the image,  then pressed the Versamark Ink pad over the entire stamped piece, covered it with clear embossing powder and  heat embossed.  Really pretty!

This was the second card we made at stamp club.  It is a quick and easy shadow box card using the Googly Ghouls stamp set from the current Holiday catalog.  Score 1/2" and 1" from each end of Tangerine Tango and Whisper White card stock, accordion fold and adhere together.  The Tangerine Tango piece was embossed using The Spider Web embossing folder.  The 2 1/2 circle punch was used to make the opening in the card front.  The spider was punched on Whisper White and hand cut.  The Boooo was cut using one of the Bitty Banners Framelits.  "Googlies" were added for the finishing touch.

This was our 3D project for stamp club.  SUPER EASY!  We cut two pieces of Designer Series Paper using the Top Note Die, folded one piece down, glued the pieces together, and added ribbon and and a stamped image to the front, and finally added a candy treat.  You could also tuck a gift card in the pouch.

Back from Stampin' Up! Convention 2012

Here are some of the goodies I received at Convention 2012. The  bag is definitely a keeper!  Someone really thought out the details, including different sizes of inside pockets and little feet on the bottom.  We received three stamp sets at check in, earned one by collecting a secret word at each class we attended, and then Shelli gave everyone two sets at the last general session on Saturday.   Do you see the CD?  That is a free MDS (My Digital Studio) content CD.  I also have a 30 day preview of the new MDS2-Plus.  AWESOME!!!!! You can get a free 30 day trial, too!  Check my SU website on August 1 for all the details!

These are some of the gifts I received from other demonstrators in my up line's group (Southern Stars) and my up line's up line's group (Simply INKcredible Sisters.)  I was so lucky to be able to meet many of my "sisters" and look forward to seeing them again very soon.  Next year I hope that some of my own down line will be able to join me at Convention 2013.
