Quick & Easy

These are samples of cards I was going to have the ladies make on Saturday night at Ladies Night Out but I ended up canceling due to the weather.  These are quick and easy.  I started with Stampin' Up! Note Cards (#107311.)  You get 20 cards and 20 envelopes for only $5.95.  I used retired cardstock and designer series paper to make these cards.  On the first card I punched a border using the Scallop Trim Border punch (#118402- $15.95) and on the card below, I used the Scallop Edge Border punch (#119882 - $15.95)  The initial was stamped using Lovely Letters Alphabet (p. 144 in annual catalog) and then punched with a 1 3/8 circle punch, matted on the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch.

Only 11 months until Christmas!

I already have a head start on my Christmas cards for 2013!  These were the cards I planned to send to my Stampin' Up! team members, but I didn't get them finished in time, so I decided to put them away until this Christmas.  This is an exact copy of a card that my upline received at Founder's Circle - a get together of Stampin' Up!'s top 100 demonstrators.  I do not know who made the card - I just took photos of my favorite cards, and did not make a note of who made the cards.

This card is so striking in real life.  EVERYONE who has been in my stamp room this month has loved it.  The little packages are made with Silver and Red Glimmer paper, from the annual catalog (p.160.)  The card front is textured using the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Folder, which was in the Holiday Catalog BUT is still available for purchase. The bows are made using one of the flowers from the Boho Blossoms punch (p. 185 in the annual catalog.)  The Real Red and Whisper White pieces are made using the Big Shot and the Top Note Die, which is exclusive to Stampin' Up!

Below is the same card, but with two red packages.

Hope this will inspire you to make your Christmas cards this year!

CONTACT ME if you would like to order the supplies to make this card.

Just think, if you start now, and make just 4 Christmas cards a month, you will have 44 hand-crafted cards ready to mail by December!

And the Winner is..........

Nancy M.!

Here is her prize.......... 418 inches of ribbon!

It pays to come over to my house for stamp club and/or classes.  Nancy was here on Saturday for stamp club and took a closer look at the ribbon in my jar for this month's contest.  (See this THIS POST if you don't know about the contest!)  After looking at the ribbon, and listening to my hints.....she took what she thought was a crazy guess at the number of inches of ribbon in the jar - 360 inches.  And she was by far the closest to the total amount that I had collected in the jar. So she will have all of this ribbon to work on her projects, between monthly stamp club meetings.

Make a Cake

I made this card for my friend, Dawn.  I am so proud of myself - this is the third birthday card I made this month!  I still need to work on getting them in the mail early, so they will arrive in time.  I knew that this card would be hand-delivered, so I used the new Pinwheel Sizzlits Die, which can be found in the Spring Catalog for only $4.95.  Too cute!  The stamp set I used is "Make a Cake" and the coordinating Designer Series Paper is Patio Party.  The greeting is from the Itty Bitty Banners set - cut out using the Big Shot and Bitty Banners Framelits.

If you would like to find out about Stampin' Up! please visit my website

Today is the last day to enter my contest to win a bunch of free ribbon.  Go to this BLOG POST for all the details!  I will announce the winner tomorrow.

Happy New Year - part 2

I saw a card similar to this when I was looking at some other stamping blogs.  This was a quick and easy card to make.  The card uses Very Vanilla as the base.  The black shape is cut using the Big Shot and Labels Collection Framelits.  The stems of the glasses are made from vellum card stock using a tag punch.  The tops of the glasses are made from glimmer paper and a small oval punch (retired.)  The bubbles are rhinestones.  The greeting is from the  Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set - a set I find myself using all the time.  It has 24 greetings - something for just about every occasion you can imagine!  And they each work perfectly with the Word Window and Modern Label punches.

Happy New Year

OK, I know I am a little late for a New Year's Card, but these are still on my desk waiting to be sent!  I made these cards using the Champagne Glimmer Paper from the holiday mini.  The numbers were cut using the Big Shot.  I wasn't too sure if I liked the look of this card, so I made several versions using different designer series paper, card stock, and arranging the numbers on the cards in different ways.  I should have taken a photo of the inside of the card, where I stamped "Imagine the Possibilities."  I am hoping the people who receive one of these cards will have a fantastic year!  Here are some of the other versions of the card.

If you haven't already entered this month's contest to win a bunch of ribbon, go to THIS BLOG POST and guess how many inches of ribbon are in the jar.  Guesses must be received by the 20th.  I will announce the winner on Monday, January 21.

Thoughts & Prayers

In keeping with one of my New Year's resolutions, I recently sent this card to a complete stranger who is going through cancer treatments.  Another Stampin' Up! demonstrator asked for prayers for a friend, and I asked for his address to also send him a card.  I hope it helps with his recovery to know that others are praying for him.  This card was made using one of my favorite sets, "Thoughts & Prayers."  I used retired designer series paper and folded down the top of the paper about 1/4" to get that contrasting border.

Don't forget to enter this month's contest by guessing how much ribbon I have collected in my jar.  See the details on THIS BLOG POST

Carry On

I made this card for a friend's milestone birthday (one of those pesky ones that ends with a "0".)  She loves to bake, so I thought this would be a good time to get out the Hostess Stamp Set "Carry On."  Below is the inside of the card.

Feeling Sentimental

I have given up making New Year's Resolutions about losing weight or exercising more.......and went for something that would actually be FUN and possibly achievable.  This year I decided that I was going to blog daily (so far so good!) and that I was going to actually SEND the cards that I make!

This is the card I made for my brother-in-law's birthday.  OK, I was a little late, but I did send it!  I used the stamp set "Feeling Sentimental" and the retired designer series paper, Well Worn (which was still available on the CLEARANCE RACK for only $4.39 the last time I checked.)

The card below is how I intended for the card to look, but when I was putting it all together, I forgot to use the blue layer of card stock.

I love this stamp set, mainly because of the image that I did not use - which is a London phone booth.  It reminds me of the three years that we lived in London.  Look for another card made with that image soon.

Would you like to get this stamp set or lots of other fabulous Stampin' Up! products  for FREE?
Just place a $50 order between January 22 - March 22 and you can choose from a wide variety of exclusive products for FREE!

Check back NEXT TUESDAY to see what those products are.  Or CONTACT ME NOW to get a copy of the Sale-a-Bration brochure and the new Spring Catalog!

2013 Calendar Class

A group of stampers came over on Saturday morning to make this Calendar, which fits in a CD case.  By the end of the morning (or rather early afternoon!) we decided that the saying "Time flies when you are having fun!" is true!

It is a shame that we are almost halfway through January, because we will only be looking at this beautiful image for a few weeks, before we have to flip to February.

Below are the other pages we made for this year's calendar.

My friend and down line, Lynne, taught this class with me.  August and September were two of her designs and I was not being a good student when she was teaching us how to make these pages.  I guess I must have been talking too much because I stamped the August image on September and Septembers images on August.  Oops!  Sorry, Lynne!  And you might have noticed that December's page is missing!  Long story.........but hopefully I will have it to show to you soon.

Triple Time Circle Circus

My stamp club members made this card last summer after I got back home from the Stampin' Up! convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.  This style card was very popular.  It is called triple time stamping.  It looks complicated, but it is very easy to make.  THIS BLOG POST shows another card that I made using this same technique.  CONTACT ME if you would like to learn how to make beautiful hand crafted cards like these.

Betsy's Blossoms

This is another card my stamp club made last summer.  It uses all of the 2012-13 In Colors from Stampin' Up!  The stamp is called Betsy's Blossoms (p. 72 in the Stampin' Up Catalog.)  The Happy Birthday greeting is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set, cut out using the Big Shot and Bitty Banners Framelits.

Bright Blossoms

This is a card my stamp club members made last summer at one of our club meetings.  It is made using the Bright Blossoms stamp set (p.82 in the Stampin' Up! 2012-13 Catalog.)  The Designer Series paper is Summer Smooches. I love how the same images are used for the paper and the stamp set!  The little flower is made using the BoHo Blossoms punch.  The "Happy Birthday" greeting is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set (p.142)  This is a great set if you like to make birthday cards!

This is the same card using Rich Razzleberry card stock instead of Tempting Turquoise.

The Open Sea

This is a SWAP card that I received from another Stamping Up demonstrator.  This is a great masculine card.  It is made using all 5 stamps from The Open Sea stamp set (p.104 in the Stampin' Up! 2012-13 catalog.)  The red Baker's Twine adds a nice touch of color.

Pleasant Poppies

I haven't had the time to play with all the new products that I ordered from the Spring Catalog.  So in the meantime, I thought I would share with you some of the cards that I received as SWAPS from other Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  This card was made by Irene Grau.  I am pretty sure she used a brayer to  make the yellow streaks on the background of this card.  I have tried this technique, but let's just say I need a little more practice before I can demonstrate it!  The stamp set used on this card is Pleasant Poppies (p. 72 and p. 129 in the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! catalog.)  It is only show at 40% in the catalog - much prettier in real life!

Don't forget to take a guess in this month's contest.  See January 7's post for the details!

Stampin' Up! Style

This is a great example of how Stampin' Up! products coordinate with each other.  These cards were all made using the Floral District Designer Series Paper (#126919.)  The paper matches the card stock perfectly.  And there are lots of choices for ribbon, brads, and other matching accessories.  Below are close up views of two of the cards.

This card is made using Rich Razzleberry card stock and ribbon.  The Whisper White cardstock was embossed using the Big Shot and the Petals -a-Plenty embossing folder.

This card is made using Daffodil Delight card stock and ribbon, and the Square Lattice embossing folder.

Ribbon, anyone?

As Promised - A New Contest
This contest is just for fun!  I have been collecting scraps of ribbon in this jar for the past year or so.  These are ends of a roll, pieces that were cut for cards that never got made, and even some non-Stampin' Up! ribbon!  All you have to do is guess the number of inches of ribbon is in this jar.  If you stop by my rubber room for a club or class this month, you will get a better look at the ribbon.  You can leave your guess as a comment on this blog post or E-Mail your guess to me by clicking here!

I will announce the winner on Monday, January 21.  That will give all my stamp club members a chance to look at the jar of ribbon in person at our meetings that weekend.  Not a club member?!  You are always welcome to join in on the fun as a guest!  CLICK HERE to get more details about my club meetings and other stamping events.

Evergreen

My friend and down line, Lyn, sent me this card.  I am not sure if she intended to enter the contest.  She did not post a comment on THIS POST like the rules stated.  She did leave a comment on another post.......and she gave me the BEST peanut butter fudge for Christmas..........but again, rules are rules.  So I will have to disqualify her from this contest.

This card is beautiful.  Lyn used the stamp set, Evergreen and the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Folder from the 2012 Holiday catalog to make this card.  Both items are being carried over - so they will be available at least through May 31 and hopefully they will also make it into the 2013-2014 catalog.  Lyn cut the opening using the Big Shot and the Labels Collection Framelits.

And now to announce the winner of the contest.  Honestly, I could not pick a favorite card - it would like be choosing your favorite child!  They are all beautiful and there is something about each card that really caught my eye.  So I decided to use random.org to choose the winner.  And the winner is..............

Wendy

Wendy, you will have to come to one of my stamping events to claim your prize!!!!  Or at least stop by to stamp during some free time.

Thanks to everyone that participated in the Christmas Card contest.
I will announce another contest tomorrow.  And you won't have to make a card to win this time!!!

Rejoicing with You

This is the card Connie made.  I can't say that she made it for my Christmas Card contest because she actually had it in the mail before I announced the contest.  It was the first hand crafted card I received this Christmas and I love everything about this card.  All the little details make this card so special; the texture, sponging, the pearls, and of course the sentiment.  The stamp set is Rejoicing with You (main catalog, p.21)

I have one more Christmas card to show you tomorrow, and then I will announce the winner!

Bells & Boughs

This is Anna's beautiful entry in my Christmas Card contest.  She used the stamp set, Bells & Boughs (Main Catalog, p. 20)   The colors on this card are beautiful; I believe she used the retired Poppy Parade as the base card and to color the Poinsettias.  The Crochet Trim adds just the right touch!  A very classic looking Christmas Card.

Joyous Celebrations!

This is Wendy's entry in my card contest.  This is a great example of CASEing.  To stampers, CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything.  A card very similar to Wendy's was pictured in the 2012 Holiday Catalog.  Wendy changed the color of the base card, used the Modern Label Punch for her greeting, and made a few other changes to the card pictured in the catalog.  My sister, Donna, also CASED the same card from the Holiday catalog and her card looks like this:

Unfortunately she is not eligible to win the contest since she did not post a comment on THIS BLOG POST.  RULES are RULES.  I am a little upset that my own sister (who is also one of my down line) does not follow my blog!  Just kidding, Donna!

The stamp set and the textured impressions folder that Wendy and Donna used to make their cards are no longer available because they were in the Holiday Catalog.  But beginning today, you may order from the new Spring Catalog!  Lots of great products are featured in the  spring catalog for Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and other spring occasions.

CONTACT ME if you would like to receive a copy of the Spring Catalog and the Sale-a-Bration flyer (where you can earn free stamp sets and other fabulous Stampin' Up products.)

Thank you for visiting my blog - come back soon!  Just a few more Christmas cards to show you and then I will announce the winner!

Beautiful Season

This is Linda's entry in my Christmas Card contest.  The stamp set she used is "Beautiful Season" (2012-13 Catalog, page 20.)  Linda always does a beautiful job with her cards.  The coloring on this card is great.  You may not be able to see it from the photo, but she added Dazzling Details to the berries.  Lovely card.  Come back the rest of the week to see more cards that were entered in the contest.  Winner will be announced when all the cards have been posted.

Happy New Year !

I received this beautiful card yesterday - hand delivered, no less!  It was the last entry in my blog contest.  I love how Diane used Designer Series paper as the card base - it looks like wall paper!  She used a retired stamp set for most of this card.  All of the pieces are cut out by hand and colored with water color pencils.  I appreciate all the work you did on this card, Diane!  Come back and visit my blog the rest of the week for the other entries in the card contest.  The winner will be announced after all entries are posted.
