Back to School

I officially go back to school today for our first staff meeting of the year.  It is a time for worship, fellowship & lunch, with some business mixed in.  I thought I would show some "teacher" cards that we made in my club meetings over the past 5 years.  Most of these projects use stamp sets, paper, and punches that are retired.  If you would like measurements or directions, just let me know!  I may have to try this technique again - with the spinning apple!
 Love this little clipboard card!
This cute card was made with builder wheels.  They have retired, but the last time I checked they were still available on the Clearance Rack for only $2.69 each!  In addition to the alphabet wheel and the apples, there is also one with crayons.  Check out MY WEBSITE to shop 24/7 and to see what other deals are on the clearance rack!  Or CONTACT ME and I will place the order for you.  Clearance items can now be added to workshop orders, which saves you shipping costs!  (Clearance items are available while supplies last!)
Owls are everywhere in my preschool classroom.  So I think I will be pulling out this owl stamp and coordinating punch to make some projects this year!  This is a 3 x 3 card. The stamp set is retired, but the punch is still available.
This is a giant paper clip which could be used as a book mark.  The apple stamp is retired.  But the circle and scallop circle punches are still available.

Let me know if you want to get together with your friends to make some of these projects (or similar ones) for your child's teacher!

Craft Show 10 to 4 TODAY!!!!

If you are not doing anything today - or if you are out and about in the Greenbrier Area of Chesapeake, VA - stop by the Khendive Temple Center on Woodlake drive between 10 and 4 today and say "hi."  I will have a table at their indoor craft show.  There is also a car show outside.  I have boxed up some cards and some retired stamp sets to sell, but I hope to just talk with people and get them interested in Stamping Up!  These are little post it holders that I will give away with catalog or Paper Pumpkin orders.  Ben helped make these and Emily helped make the post it note holders below.
A pen or pencil goes into the space on the left......I took the photo before they were finished.  Hope to see you and if not, CONTACT ME to learn more about Stampin' Up!

CLICK HERE to read more about Paper Pumpkin - a monthly craft kit sent right to your mailbox for only $10 a month for the first two months.  But only if you sign up by August 31.

June's stamp club contest

At my June stamp club meetings I gave everyone these pieces to make a Christmas card.  I told them they didn't have to use all the supplies this time, since the red frame is not the same color as the red in the designer series paper.  Only one person entered a card for this contest; however, I didn't give them much to work with, we didn't have a meeting in July, AND I forgot to give the supplies to my Sunday Stampers.

Below is Nancy M's card - the only entry and so the winner!
I am very impressed with her card.  She did use all the supplies, plus used the Mosaic Madness stamp set and coordinating punch to make the cute poinsettia.  I am not sure if she meant for the card to be this way or turned on its side.  I think it would look good either way.  Below is the card that I designed using these supplies (except for the frame.)
This is a card I made for a stamp-a-stack a few years ago.  The ornament stamp set is retired, but there is a cute one in the new holiday catalog, with a coordinating punch.

August club projects 2 & 3

This was the second card we made at my stamp club meetings this month.  This was one of the swaps I took with me to the Stampin' Up! convention in July. I am hoping to have Ben make a video for me so I can show you how to make that flower using two of the scallop circle punches.
Our 3D project this month was this notebook folder.  It is very easy to make using one sheet of card stock and another small piece to make a pocket on the left hand side.
This project is not finished because it is this month's club contest!  Each member of my club picked a sheet of card stock and a few ladies also took some scraps of Designer Series Paper as well.  The others are going to use supplies they have at home to decorate the cover.  I can't wait to see what they come up with!  I also told them to use the note pad to start making a wish list of the Stampin' Up! products they want for FREE!!!

CONTACT ME NOW if you want the measurements for this project and/or if you would like to learn more about my stamp clubs and how YOU can earn free merchandise, too!

August Stamp Club project

I received this card in a SWAP at convention.  I LOVE Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper and how the colors all coordinate so well.  I have been seeing a lot of cards using this technique on different blogs and decided to try it for myself.  I watched several videos on You Tube to see how it was done.  The card below is the one we made at my August stamp club meetings.
We used the Gingham Garden designer series paper, which has a lot of bright bold patterns.  I mixed in solid card stock to keep those floral patterns from over powering the card.  I also textured the card stock pieces using various embossing folders and the Big Shot.  Below are the cards my Sunday Stampers made - to show you how great they look using various colors of card stock and ink.

CONTACT ME if you would like to join in the fun at my monthly stamp club meetings.  Or gather a group of your friends for a private party.

Need a creative escape, but can't get away?!  Check out MY PAPER PUMPKIN.  A paper crafting kit will be delivered to your door, with everything you need (except adhesive) to complete a project in about 30 minutes.  Sign up by August 31 and the first two months will only be $10 a  month, with SHIPPING INCLUDED!  Let me know if you sign up so I can enter you in my drawing for a FREE PAPER PUMPKIN KIT!

One More Convention Gift

I received these beautiful note cards from one of my sister stampers.......and I don't know who she is!  A large group of us went out to dinner one night while at convention.  I was late arriving because I was participating in an organized SWAP.  These cards were at my place when I arrived.  It was very hectic when I arrived: - between ordering our dinner and doing our card swap, I never found out who gave me this awesome gift!  If I find out, I will be sure to edit this post to give her credit.

Edited to add: These note cards were made by Michele Doherty.  (Thanks, Liz!)

Convention Gifts - part 2

Here are a few more "pillow gifts" that I received from my sister stampers at the Stampin' Up! Convention in July.  The fabric flower, paper flower (on my name tag) and the mini post it note key ring were made by Monica.
This cute fabric bag was made by Liz.  She put a bag of yummy almonds inside.
This is a bag tag that I received from Phyliss.

Convention Gifts - part 1

One of the fun things about attending the Stampin' Up! convention was getting to spend time with my "sister" stampers.  These are all gifts I received from my roommate, Dawn.  The little purple basket was filled with chocolate - which disappeared very quickly!  The plaque and key ring were tucked into the little blue bag along with the birthday card below.
Cute, right?  But it gets even better when you open it up:
How cute is that?  The cupcakes are floating in the air!  We will be making a card using this technique at a future stamp club meeting.

So CONTACT ME NOW about how to join in on the fun and receive FREE STAMPIN' UP! products.

Convention Swaps - August

When I went to the Stampin' Up! Convention in July, I participated in a SWAP to get Make and Take ideas for an entire year!  These are the cards I received in the swap for the August theme (summer.)  The card above was made by Michelle Lynch.
The card above was made by Ria Jenkins.
This was MY swap card.  I struggled at first with a summer card, but when I saw the Wanderlust Photopolymer stamp set, I knew it would be perfect for making a summer themed card.

Herringbone Technique - video!!!

These cards were made using the Herringbone Technique. Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper is great for making this kind of card because the colors coordinate so well.  We made this card at a Stamp Club meeting earlier this spring.  Watch the video below to see how easy it is to make this card!

If you have any questions, please CONTACT ME.  This designer series paper is no longer available, but there are lots of new patterns in the current annual catalog.  Let me know if you would like a copy, or you can SHOP MY STAMPIN' UP WEBSITE 24/7.

August Stamp Clubs start tonight.  Let me know if you would like to join in on the fun.  View my events page and RSVP BY CLICKING HERE.

Don't forget about the Paper Pumpkin special. Only $10 the first two months if you sign up by August 31.
