Flower Shop Stamp Club Cards

The card below was definitely everyone's favorite from July's stamp club meeting.

We stamped the flowers and greeting on black card stock using white craft ink.  Then we heat embossed using white embossing powder.  Finally, we used the new Blendabilities markers to color the flowers and greeting.  We also used the Blendabilities to color pearls (or rhinestones.)  The colors really "pop" in real life!

Below is another example:

Tuesday's Tip - Diane's Show & Tell

Today's tip is actually one of my customer's Show & Tell projects from July's Stamp Club meeting.  I encourage club members to bring something that they have been working on since our last meeting.  Diane has been busy organizing her Designer Series Paper.  This is a page from a binder where she has printed samples of her DSP and coordinating card stock.  Although you could do this by cutting and pasting scraps, Diane chose to scan her paper and complete this page digitally.  (Can you tell that her job is working with computers?)

Below are two samples of the "Card in a Box" project we will be making at my Birthday Bash on Saturday.

The basic box is easy to make.  The hard part is choosing which stamps, paper, and inks to use!  There is still room if you would like to join us THIS SATURDAY to make birthday cards.  More details can be found BY CLICKING HERE

Christmas in July - Homework!

I like to challenge my stamp club members by encouraging them to stamp in between our monthly meetings.  At our June meetings, I gave everyone that accepted the challenge these supplies - a Very Vanilla card base, strips of Real Red and Old Olive card stock, and two strips of some retired Designer Series Paper.  I told them that they must use all of these pieces to make their card.  They did not have to use the entire piece - but must use a part of each piece.  They can use other supplies that they have (Stampin' Up! if they have them.)  I also told them that I would prefer a Christmas card.

For the first time since I began giving homework - I took the challenge myself.  I must say that this was very difficult for me!  I like to CASE (Copy And Share Everything.)  So to come up with an original idea was tough.  And the bold circles on that DSP did not make it easy!  But after a lot of trial and error, this is what I came up with:

The small striped piece is the back of one of the patterned strips. I'm not thrilled with this card, but I don't hate it either.

Check back tomorrow to see what my club members did with these materials.  You will be amazed!

July's Show & Tell

I had 21 ladies here (over 4 days) for my July stamp club meetings.  I gave a sneak peek of our first project HERE.  Before I show you the other projects we made, I wanted to share the "Show & Tell" projects that some of my club members brought to the meeting.  These are projects that they have made since our last club meeting.

Here is a beautiful card that Lisa made:

Below is a  Journal (Stampin' Up item #135718) that Jean covered and decorated.

And here is another journal that she decorated by stamping on the outside and inside front cover.  These journals are 2 for $4.95 (p.200 in the current catalog.) They make a great gift.

Below are some MY DIGITAL STUDIO projects that Lyn made.  The first two are shadow boxes she made of her nephew's commissioning ceremony.

She used fabric for the blue background, printed the text boxes using MDS, and then mounted on cardstock and arranged in the frame.  For the one with the red back ground, she created the entire page in MDS - no physical cutting and rearranging the pieces.  These are just beautiful in real life!
Below is a framed 12x12  scrapbook page that Lyn designed in MDS.  She has made a lot of these for new babies and also for graduations.
You can make projects like this (scrapbook pages, calendars, photo books, etc...) by using My Digital Studio.
CLICK HERE to learn more about it.  You can even get a 30 day trial for FREE!

Diane also brought show & tell, but I will share hers for Tuesday's tip!

More SWAPS

Here are two more SWAP cards that I received at last month's Southern Stars meeting.  The card below was made by Kelly.  She used Stampin' Up!'s new In Colors to make her card.  The coordinating ribbon is beautiful and very easy to work with.
The card below was made by Ellen, who also happens to the newest member on my Stampin' Up! team.  This was the first SWAP she participated in and she did a great job.  Love the bright colors!

Cute Cake Box

My stamp club meetings are happening this weekend and this is the first project we will be making.
It is a cute box, in the shape of a piece of cake.  I think the ribbon around the middle looks like a layer of frosting.  It is attached loosely and slides off so that you can open the back of the box and get to whatever goodies you decide to put inside.  Here is what the box looks like when it is open.

I had to try making a box like this after viewing THIS YOU TUBE VIDEO.

Tuesday's Tip

I am going to start a new feature on my blog called, "Tuesday's Tip."  After 6 years of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I have learned a lot of tips from other demonstrators.  I have also developed a system for organizing my stamping supplies that works for me.  So I hope to share some of these tips with you on Tuesdays.

The chart above contains a sample of each color of card stock from Stampin' Up!'s color families.  This is such a great tool, if you are not sure what color a piece of card stock is, or if you need to find the correct color to match your Designer Series Paper.  It also has the item number for easy ordering when you need more!.

CONTACT ME if you would like a copy of the chart.  You will have to punch the card stock using a word window punch.

Monday's Mail

This cute card showed up in my mailbox last week.  I was super excited to see this because I helped Stephanie decide what kind of card to make to announce the birth of her baby.   The best part is that the baby's last name is Sweet, so he really is a "sweet baby."    Stampin' Up! stamp sets used to make this card are Zoo Babies, and Itty Bitty Banners.

If you would like to see the card I made to welcome this sweet baby into the world, CLICK HERE.

My stamp club meetings are coming up this weekend. I would love to have some new members join the fun!
There is no commitment - just pay a $7 materials fee or place a $15 order.

Happy Independence Day!

As I mentioned in an EARLIER BLOG POST, I encourage my club members to bring "Show & Tell" to our club meetings: something that they created at home between our monthly meetings.  Below is the card that Karen showed us at one of June's stamp club meetings.

How cute is that?
Hope you enjoy spending the day with family and friends.
