January's Homework

If you attend my monthly stamp club classes, then you know that I like to give homework.    It is a way to keep everyone stamping in between our monthly meetings.  This month's homework was to "alter" the cover of a pocket calendar like the one below.

Below are two examples that I showed them - to give them inspiration.

I gave everyone a 6 1/2" x 5 " piece of Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper (a Sale-a-bration item that you can get FREE with a $50 order,)  They chose a coordinating strip of card stock, and ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack (another Sale-a-bration item you can get FREE with a $50 order.)

Several stampers were very excited about this homework!  I can hardly wait for February's classes to see what they made.

Hey, Valentine

These are the cute valentines we made at my stamp club meetings in January.

They were made with the stamp set, Hey, Valentine, from the Stampin' Up! Occasions 2015 catalog.  Everyone was able to choose which card they wanted to make.  They could also choose the patterned paper from the STACKED WITH LOVE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER STACK.

Stampin' Up supplies used to make these cards:

Stamp Set: Hey, Valentine
Card stock: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Crisp Cantaloupe
Tools/Accessories: Circles and Ovals Collection Framelits, Note Tag Punch, Banner Punch, Hearts Border Punch, Blendabilities and Stampin' Write markers.

PLEASE CONTACT ME  if you would like to gather a few of your friends for a private class to make these cards.

Countdown to Christmas - 11 months!

Only 11 months until Christmas!  Last year I suggested that you start making a few Christmas cards each month to avoid the stress of making them when you have so many other things to do to prepare for the holidays.  Well, I did not take my own advice, and when Christmas came - I was scrambling to make cards and get them in the mail.

SO, this year I am going to try to take my advice and work on a few Christmas cards each month.

These cards are from an old Paper Pumpkin kit.  They were really quick and easy to put together.  Unfortunately, these kits are no longer available.  But if you are a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber, you may buy refills of other past kits and even some complete kits you may have missed.

If you would like to give Paper Pumpkin kits a try, you can save $5 on a 3 month pre-paid subscription and earn a FREE Sale-a-Bration item at the same time!  This offer is good through March 31, 2015.

PLEASE CONTACT ME if you have any questions.

BYOP = Buy Your Own Present

This is the second project we made at my January stamp club meetings.  It is a "box card."  When you open the card - it pops open and makes a box.  It is perfect for holding cash and/or a gift card.  Below are two photos with the card open:

We used the stamp set B.Y.O.P.  from the 2015 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog.  The stamps in this set are designed to use when making gift card holder for several different occasions.  There are a lot of videos on You Tube that show you how to make this card but I found that THIS ONE had the easiest measurements for scoring.

When we made our cards at club, we adhered the card stock pieces and designer series paper BEFORE we assembled the box.  Also, don't forget to use STICKY STRIP,  FAST FUSE, or TOMBOW LIQUID GLUE to put the box together.  SNAIL may not hold up to all the opening and closing of this card.

Below is another version of the card.

Happy New Year!

This is a quick and easy card I made using the Confetti Stars Punch.  The stars are from the 2013-2015 In Color Sequin Assortment.  I put a rhinestone in the center of each star for added bling.

We made similar cards at my December stamp club meetings:

My new year's resolution (one of them, anyway!) is to SEND the cards I make.  I have a bad habit of keeping the cards I make as samples or to sell.  This year I am going to try to send at least one card each week.  That may not sound like much - but for me it will be a challenge.  If you stamp with me, I hope you will take the challenge, too.

If you don't stamp with me - but would like to join the fun, PLEASE CONTACT ME
