Bingo Note Card Set

Still more catching up with posting projects from my 2017 stamping events!  Today's cards were made at Bingo - back in June!  These are all note cards, made using the 2017-18 In Colors card stock, ink, and Designer Series Paper.  The card above is my favorite from the set.  The little Adirondack chair is made with a die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  The words are from the Colorful Seasons stamp set, which coordinates with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  Buy both in a bundle and save 10%. The color used on this card is Berry Burst.

The colors used for these cards are Tranquil Tide and Powder Pink.  The words on the left are from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.  The words on the right card are from the You've Got This stamp set.

The card on the left was made using the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set and the color used was Lemon Lime Twist.  The card on the right was made using the Butterfly Basics stamp set and the color used was Fresh Fig.

The final card above uses all of the 2017-18 InColors card stock. The stamp set used was Crafting Forever. The pens were colored using the In Colors Stampin' Write Markers.

Bingo is one of my most popular stamping events.  Everyone has a good time making the cards while making new friends.  Plus there are lots of prizes and surprises.  I am hosting Bingo on Super Bowl Sunday.   CLICK HERE for more information and to RSVP.

Still using my "snow days" to catch up on posting past stamp club projects.  We made the projects above at my May 2017 stamp club classes.  The Annual Stampin' Up! catalog was coming to and end - and we made 4 cards using Designer Series Paper that was retiring (and is currently retired.)  Plus, I added a bonus project using a new stamp set, This Little Piggy.

The cards above were made with Father's Day in mind using the Guy Greetings stamp set.

The cards above were used using the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.  The design of this card is great for using up leftover Designer Series Paper.

The stamp set used on this card is retired - but the design is an easy one to copy using any greeting that you may already have.

The card above was made using one of Stampin' Up!'s note cards and more retired Designer Series Paper.  We covered the entire front of the note card as well as the flap of the envelope.  Makes a cute card!
Finally, this is a card that used a current set, This Little Piggy, from the 2017-18 Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  I get most of my inspiration for cards from Pinterest, but then "tweak" them by using different techniques depending on what stamps and/or products I have.  I also like to offer my stamp club members different options, so that they can make a card that they like and one that they might end up sending someone!

PLEASE CONTACT ME if you would like more information about my stamp classes.  I am always looking for new friends to join the fun!

Who Can Resist Embossing?!

It seems like every January I say I want to blog more often - and so here I go again!    We are up to 5 missed days of school due to our recent snow storm - so I've had time to go back and post some past projects from my stamp club classes.  These cards were made back in March 2017.  They are all made using different heat embossing techniques.

This card uses what I consider "regular" heat embossing.  I stamped the floral image and the words (from Flourishing Phrases stamp set) on white card stock using Versamark ink.  Then I sprinkled gold embossing powder over the ink, shook off the extra, and then heat set it using Stampin' Up!'s heat tool.  If you look closely you can also see where I stamped the floral image on the purple card stock using Versamark - to give it a watermark look, which adds an extra detail and interest to the card.

The cards above and below were both made using the Embossed Resist technique.  First I stamped the floral and leaf images on a piece of glossy white card stock.  I used Versamark ink and white embossing  powder.  After I heat embossed and the card stock was cool, I used sponges to add color to the card stock.  The ink will not stick on the embossed images.  I did take a tissue and rubbed across the embossed areas - just to make sure any specks of ink were removed.  I added a mat of gold foil card stock and heat embossed the greeting on Vellum.  The cards below have a Melon Mambo card stock mat and the words are stamped and embossed on Melon Mambo.

The final card was made to show that you can heat emboss in any of the Stampin' Up! colors.  You just have to be quick: stamp the image using our new firm foam ink pads and emboss immediately using clear embossing powder.

Hoping for an Early Spring

As I'm writing this (to post later) we are in our third day of being snowed in - here in Chesapeake, Virginia.  We had about 10 inches of snow - and three days later the roads are still icy and snow covered.  Snow is so rare in this area - and so the cities will clear the major roads - but neighborhood roads reply on Mother Nature to melt them.  And with temps in the teens - that won't be anytime soon!

So I've enjoyed several days stuck at home stamping, and planning for upcoming events, and going back through old projects that I never posted on my blog.  These are projects from my April 2017 stamp club classes.  We were getting ready to launch a new Stampin' Up! catalog - so I used some retiring products as well as new In Colors.

The cards above use one of my favorite techniques - using Versamark ink to stamp a "watermark" image on the background.  Do you see the little baby booties and flowers on these cards?  I think it  adds a little more interest to the cards.

The cards above were made using the "new" 2017-2018 In Colors.  With every annual catalog launched in June, Stampin' Up! introduces 5 new colors.  These colors tend to be more trendy and fill in some of the color gaps in our regular collection of card stock and ink colors.  We made these quick and easy cards using punches that are now retired.

Finally, the cards below are gift cards.  I needed a graduation card, but gave my customers the option of  making a Weddding or Anniversary card.  For the graduation card, the gift card just tucks into a little pocket fold.  For the "love" card, we added an insert using Designer Series Paper, that  makes the gift card pop up when the card is opened.

Oh So Eclectic

These are the projects we made back in October at my stamp club classes.  We usually make two cards and one 3D item - but in October we ended up making 4 cards instead.  All of these cards were made using the Oh So Eclectic stamp set from Stampin' Up!

I think the card below is my favorite of the set.  Love the Powder Pink and Black color combonation - with a hint of Lemon Lime Twist.

The ladies at my stamp club class thought the card below was a lot of work.....but it did turn out pretty and would make a great card for a special friend.  The three flowers, leaves, and open patterned design were cut from the coordinating Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies.  The flowers were backed with vellum.  You can purchase the stamp set and dies as a bundle - and you will save 10% (through May 31, 2018.)

The card below is a little quicker to make, using the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper in addition to the stamp set and dies.  If you look carefully at the close up photo - you will see that we stamped the flower image using Versamark- which adds a little interest to the background of the card.

The card below uses the "negative" space leftover when cutting out the flower.  Also, this set of dies has two pieces that do not cut - they just make an embosses image on the card. You can see one of these images (leaves) in the close up photo below.

I didn't think I needed another flower stamp set and dies - but this set is so pretty and very versatile - that I just had to add it to my collection.

Happy New Year!

Wishing you a Healthy and Happy New Year!
This is a card that we made at my December stamp club classes.  I designed projects that used retiring products from the 2017 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog - products that you can only get through TOMORROW, January 2.  You can see all of the projects we made by CLICKING HERE.

The Happy New Year card came about because I did not want to waste the Silver Foil paper that we used when making the card below:
On this card, I cut a piece of silver card stock 4 x 5.25 to place behind the white piece embossed with the snowflake and the snowflake strip of paper.  That is a lot of silver card stock that is just being covered up - so I used my Large Numbers dies and cut out "2018" from the top portion of the silver - then covered the holes using the white embossed piece.

This is how I positioned the numbers when cutting them out from the silver card stock using the Magnetic plate and the Big Shot.
Here is the card stock with the numbers removed.
I glued the silver card stock to the front of a Whisper White card.
This shows the embossed piece - covering the holes!
Then I added the strip of Designer Series Paper.

I took the numbers that were cut from the silver card stock to finish the "Happy New Year" card.  I cut a 3 x 4 1/4 piece of Year of Cheer card stock and adhered it to a Whisper White card base.  Then I cut a gold banner to put behind the numbers "2018."   I added the greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set punched out using the Classic label punch.

Other retiring products you don't want to miss are the foil snowflakes and the snowflake embossing folder.

Remember - TOMORROW, January 2, 2018 is the last day to get most of the products I used on these cards.  CLICK HERE to see all of the items that are being discontinued - many of them are on sale!
