Wish Me Luck!

I just entered my "rubber room" in the local newspaper's DIY Contest.  I know my craft room is not beautiful, but it is functional and a fun place to spend time.  I am hoping to win in either the Best Low Budget Project OR Best Room Over the Garage.  I still can't believe that Emily gave up this huge room for the tiniest bedroom in the house.  Here is the only "Before" photo I could find of the room.

Now that my room is somewhat clean, I better get busy designing this month's stamp club projects.  CONTACT ME if you would like to learn more about my clubs and classes!

Two More Entries and the Winner!

I challenged my Stamp Club Members to make a card using the same supplies (green card base, white piece of card stock, ribbon, and button.)  This is Anna C's card.  I love monochromatic cards and Anna used one of my favorite stamp sets to make her card.  I hardly ever use buttons on my cards because I do not know what to do with them, but here is another simple but striking use of the button.  (See my last blog post for two other contest entries.)

These three photos show the card that Diane B. submitted for the contest.  She is always coming up with creative ideas.  She used the button on the front of the card as a door knob.  When you open the door, you see the cat and spider stamped on a mixture of sponged colors.  Then the entire card opens up to reveal more stamped images and sponging.  And, yes. that is a lollipop treat on the front of the card.

I could not choose the "best" card, so I had Cliff draw a name at random to choose the winner of the contest.  And that person is..............

Linda H.

She will choose a product from my gift basket at our next club meeting in October.  And by the way, Linda is one of my very creative down line!

As always contact me if you want to join in the fun!

Stamp Club Contest

I gave these supplies to my stamp club members who were up to the creative challenge of using them to create a card.  They had to use these supplies and any other Stampin' Up! products to complete the card.  I had 4 members take the challenge and the following photos are two of the their fabulous creations.

This is the card that Nancy M. made.  She used my favorite 2012 Sale-a-Bration stamp set.   I love the punched flower accent with the button center.

This is the card that Linda H. made.  I love all the details she put on the card; especially the flowers that pop off the card.  Another creative use for the button!

I will post the other two cards on Wednesday.  Check back to see them and to find out who won the contest!  If you would like to join in the fun, come to one of my Stamp Club Meetings in October.   Or CONTACT ME about having a private party with you and your friends!

September Club Projects

This was the first project we made in Stamp Club this month.  It is a tile card - an easy technique with WOW results.   First we scored the white piece of card stock, stamped the image,  then pressed the Versamark Ink pad over the entire stamped piece, covered it with clear embossing powder and  heat embossed.  Really pretty!

This was the second card we made at stamp club.  It is a quick and easy shadow box card using the Googly Ghouls stamp set from the current Holiday catalog.  Score 1/2" and 1" from each end of Tangerine Tango and Whisper White card stock, accordion fold and adhere together.  The Tangerine Tango piece was embossed using The Spider Web embossing folder.  The 2 1/2 circle punch was used to make the opening in the card front.  The spider was punched on Whisper White and hand cut.  The Boooo was cut using one of the Bitty Banners Framelits.  "Googlies" were added for the finishing touch.

This was our 3D project for stamp club.  SUPER EASY!  We cut two pieces of Designer Series Paper using the Top Note Die, folded one piece down, glued the pieces together, and added ribbon and and a stamped image to the front, and finally added a candy treat.  You could also tuck a gift card in the pouch.

Back to "Spool"

I can't believe we just finished our second week of school!  It was a struggle for me to get back into the swing of things this school year.  The summer went by too fast, and I am still trying to settle into a routine.
