I'm sad to say that this is the first card that I have made in over a month - except for my Christmas cards, which I will post later.  I made this card for our church secretary who is retiring after over 30 years of service.  I'm happy for her - but will miss her.  She always knew the answer to any question I had!   Below is the inside of the card.

The inspiration for this card came from a card I saw on Splitcoaststampers, made by Stef Perry.

Supplies used to make this card:
Stamp Sets: Butterfly Basics (retired), Lots of Happy card kit, Hardwood
Card stock and ink: Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue, Whisper White
Tools: Subtle Textured Embossing Folder, Banner Triple punch, Classic Label punch, Stitched Shapes Framelits
Accessories: Clear Rhinestones

Happy World Card Making Day!

Below are the cards that I made this week.  They are all made using Paper Pumpkin kits.  These kits are perfect for when you want to be creative and relieve a little (or a lot) of stress!  Keeping your hands busy while being creative - keeps your mind off of the worries of the day.

I wasn't too sure about the cards in the kit shown above.  I thought they were a little too "busy" for my style.  But after making them - I really LOVE them.

I actually made a little mistake when putting these cards together - but I'm pretty sure no one would even know if I didn't point it out!  That's the great thing about being creative - it doesn't have to be perfect!  A few mistakes show that it was made by a human - with love!
I LOVE these shaker cards and I'm not sure why I didn't put this kit together as soon as it arrived in my mailbox - last year!
And finally, I put together a set of Christmas cards - from a kit that arrive in 2016!  I'm pretty sure I wanted to try some alternative projects using this kit.  There are always TONS of people (more creative than me) who share other ideas for using the supplies in the kit - on Pinterest, of course. But I decided to just put the kit together as is - and it is another set of cards that I just love.  You can't tell from the photo - but the cards are layered - lots of dimension.

If you are not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber - it will soon be the perfect time to give these kits a try.

Beginning on Monday, October 8, 2018- your first kit will only be $5 if you use the PROMO CODE: FLASH1018.  This special will only run through October 10, 2018 or while supplies last - so sign up now by CLICKING HERE.  Remember - the promo code will not work until Monday October 8.  This special is for First Time Subscribers only.

In the meantime, you can visit my STAMPIN' UP! WEBSITE to see other specials from Stampin' Up! - including a flash sale on certain card making items!

Homework

At my stamp classes last week - I gave everyone (that wanted to accept the challenge) a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Garden Impressions 6x6 Designer Series Paper stack.  I told them to make a card/project using that piece of paper.

I decided to accept my own challenge, and below is the card that I made using one of the papers.
I can't wait to see if anyone completed their "homework" when we meet on Sunday for this month's class.

I am always looking for new stampers - so please CONTACT ME if you would like information about my stamp classes and events.

Monday's Mail

Another week went by where I didn't get any cards in the mail.  And I have no excuse because I was home most of the week waiting for Hurricane Florence to make her appearance.  Luckily, the hurricane went further south and so we here in southern Virginia did not have any damage.  I did work on some projects for upcoming classes - and did a lot of organizing in my craft room - while I was home from work/school.

The cards above are two that I received in the mail recently.  I am always happy to receive a hand crafted card in the mail - so I am going to do my best to get more cards in the mail during the coming weeks.

My goal is to send 30 cards by the time Stampin' Up! celebrates its 30th anniversary in November!

Tanner's Tags!

Last Friday I was lucky enough to gather with a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators to meet with Tanner from the Stampin' Up! home office.  He is a manager for this area - and came to tell us about forming a Demonstrator Council.  He told us about himself and what the council would do - then he answered a lot of our questions.

After the Q&A - he had a SINCERELY SANTA PROJECT KIT for each of us!  The completed project is shown in the photo above.  We did all the stamping on the tags at the meeting, and then took them home to finish making them.  They are really cute - lots of details on them - great for Christmas packages and gift bags.  You could also use them on card fronts or as embellishments for Scrapbook pages.

All of the tags fit into the cute tin shown below:
And below is a photo of Tanner.

Monday's Mail

Last weekend I was at a scrapbooking retreat in Pennsylvania.  In addition to all the scrapbooking I got done, I had a chance to put together this (retired) card kit from Stampin' Up!   I put several of these cards in the mail - and the rest will go in my collection to send out at another time.  I am doing my best to actually SEND cards and not just HOARD them!

This kit is no longer available  - but there are several available in the current 2018-2019 annual catalog  There will also be one in the Holiday Catalog - which you can order from beginning on September 5.

Please CONTACT ME if you would like to receive a copy of the Holiday catalog.

Monday Mail

This is the only card I was able to put in the mail last week.  I left to go out of town for my last vacation of the summer on Tuesday - so I dropped this card in the mail on Monday before I left.   I sent this card to my sister who invited me to attend a scrapbook retreat.  This card is made with retired stamp sets.  I have been trying to send out my stash of cards - instead of just collecting them in a box!

August Team Swaps

These are the SWAP cards I made for our team meeting in August.  We used the sketch below as inspiration for our cards.

I used the GARDEN IMPRESSIONS 6x6 DESIGNER SERIES PAPER to made these cards.  The paper pack has some beautiful and colorful designs.  I also used the coordinating Shaded Spruce card stock and ink.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from the Better Together stamp set.   I used the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut the ovals. All products are from Stampin' Up!

Below are all 20 cards that I made.  Check back next week to see the cards that I received in the SWAP!

Monday's Mail

Here's another card that I sent last week.  I made this card with all retired products, except for the Daffodil Delight card stock and Blends marker that I used to color the flower.  But I just had to use the "amazing woman" for this card - sent to a truly amazing woman who is battling breast cancer with amazing strength, courage, and faith.  Below is the inside of the card.

Below are three cards that I sent to my sister-in law this week:
Are you wondering why I sent her TWO Christmas cards in August?!  Well, I was doing some purging over the weekend - and found the two Christmas cards that I had sent to her several years ago - but they were sent to a previous address.  When they were returned to me, I stashed them away and forgot about them.  I almost tossed them in the trash - but one was actually a thank you note that my son had written to his aunt.  So I decided to put them in the mail - because, honestly, I couldn't bear to put them in the trash!  The pink card is the one that I included to explain that I wasn't totally nuts!
