A Little Box for you to Make

We made this sweet little box at my stamp classes last weekend.  The photos below show the box when it is open.

This box holds several 3 x 3 cards and envelopes and stays closed using Velcro dots from the Dollar Tree.  You could also put a small gift such as jewelry or sweet treats inside.  Watch the video below to see how to make this cute box.

Cutting directions for this box:

Box: 5 1/4 x 5 1/4; scored at 1" on all four sides
Wrap: 10 1/4 x 3 3/4; score the long side at 2 7/8, 4, 7 1/4, 8 1/4
DSP piece for top of box: 3 1/2 x 2 1/2

Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Class Projects

These are the projects we made at my stamp classes last weekend.  The cards were made using the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set and/or Small Bloom Punch: both are Sale-a-Bration items that you can earn for FREE with a qualifying purchase through March 2020.

The first card we made was this simple black/white card with punched flowers using the 2018-2020 In Colors from Stampin' Up!'s annual catalog.  It may be simple and very easy to make - but it is striking in real life and can be used for any occasion. You can learn how I made these cards by CLICKING HERE.

The card above was made using Blueberry Bushel products from the 2018-2020 In Color family.   I love making monochromatic cards - and when using Stampin' Up! products, they always look great because of the color coordination.

These In Colors will retire at the end of May - but in the past many In Color products have sold out before the end of the catalog selling period.  So be sure to purchase any of these items before they are gone!

Measurements for this card:

Thick Whisper White card base (8 1/2 x 5 1/2; scored in half at 4 1/4)
Patterned Paper: 4 x 5 1/4
Blueberry Bushel card stock mat is cut using the largest scalloped rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly dies
Whisper White piece for stamping: 3 3/4 x 2 9/16

Check my blog on Monday to see a video tutorial showing exactly how I made this card!

Retiring In Colors

These cards were made using the 2018-2020 In Colors from Stampin' Up!  That means these five colors will retire at the end of the catalog selling period at the end of May.  You should start thinking about purchasing any of these products that you LOVE - because they will be gone soon, and many of them sell out before the end of May.

We will be making the cards shown above at my stamp classes this weekend - to remind everyone to stock up now on card stock, ink, markers, blends, ribbon, etc....but especially the ink refills - for these colors.

How I made these cards:
  • Begin by using a Whisper White Thick card base
  • I used the large scallop die from the SEASONAL LAYERS dies, to cut the edge of the black card stock piece (5 1/2" x approx 3").  I embossed the black card stock on the card on the left - using the BASKET WEAVE 3D embossing folder.
  • I stamped the small flowers using TUXEDO BLACK MEMENTO INK on the card stock, then punched out using the SMALL BLOOM PUNCH (a Sale-a-Bration free item.)  For the card on the right - I punched out the flowers without stamping the image.
  • I arranged the flowers along the edge of the black card stock in a random pattern, then attached them to the card front using glue dots.
  • I added rhinestones or pearls to the center of each flower.
  • The greetings were stamped in MEMENTO ink using stamps from BUTTERFLY GALA and SO SENTIMENTAL stamp sets.

These cards would work great for almost any occasion - just stamp the greeting that suits your needs!
