Hold on to Hope

I literally made these cards before breakfast one day last week.  I think they are gorgeous - and I can say that because they are not my original design.  I CASEd them from another Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Brandy Cox, who helped design this set.  "CASE" is a term that we use in the stamping world to mean Copy And Share Everything.  The only thing I did differently was to stamp the pink butterfly.  She used Early Espresso ink to stamp the butterfly and cut it out using the coordinating dies for this set.

If you do all the stamping first - then the cards can be made quickly.

Basic Directions for making these cards:
  • Card Base: Thick Whisper White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4
  • Petal Pink layer: 3 7/8 x 5 1/8: stamp the edge of the card using the large floral stamp and Petal Pink Ink
  • Whisper White mat/layer: 2 3/4 x 3 3/4
  • Whisper White for stamped images: 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 ; stamp the cross and butterfly using Petal Pink ink, and the words with Early Espresso ink; layer this on the white mat using dimensionals
  • Stamp the inside and the envelope as desired

This is one of the sets that I hate to see retire. I love everything about this set, the sentiments, images, and beautiful dies.  This set and the dies are only available through June 2, or while supplies last.  The dies are now 60% off - a GREAT deal - and they could even be used without the stamp set.  Click on the images below to add the items to your shopping bag in my online store.

Click on the image above to see all of the items that will be retiring on June 2.  The Stampin' Blends markers are NOT retiring, but they will only be sold in a bundle in the new catalog.  So this is the last chance to buy individual markers.

Poppy Parade One Sheet Wonder

Happy Memorial Day!

When I was young - I remember my mom and aunts referring to Memorial Day as Decoration Day.  I also remember people wearing poppies and selling little paper poppies as a fundraiser.  I did a little research and found out that after the Civil War, the graves of soldiers were decorated with flowers.  One reason the poppy became the symbol of Memorial Day is because poppies were the first flower to grow in the fields where the soldiers bodies were buried.  Thanks, Google!

So I thought today would be a good day to share these cards that I made with the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper.  Although the two stamp sets in the Peaceful Poppies Suite (Jan - June 2020 Mini Catalog) WILL be carrying over to the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog - the matching Designer Series Paper WILL NOT!  If you like this paper - the last day to purchase it from my online store is June 2 - or while supplies last! Watch the short video to see the paper - although Stampin' Up!'s paper is always more beautiful in real life - you'll get the idea of what it looks like!

This set of cards is made from a One Sheet Wonder pattern.  The 6 cards were made from cutting up one half sheet of the 12x12 paper.  I used the other half to decorate the flaps of the envelopes.  But you could make 12 cards from one sheet of paper if you didn't decorate the envelopes.

I will be sharing the pattern for this One Sheet Wonder in my new private Face Book group, Let's Stamp A Little.  You can join the group BY CLICKING HERE.

I will offering an online class in June where you can make a set of cards similar to these. Sign up for my monthly newsletter below if you would like to receive information about my new classes and events.  I will also be sharing exclusive projects and offering deals- so don't miss out!

I hope you will take time today to remember all those who lost their lives fighting for our country.

Quick and Easy Fancy Fold card - part 2

I posted this video on Monday- but I think it got lost on the long post - so I am re-posting it today.  You can see my original blog post and close up photos of the cards that I show in the video  BY CLICKING HERE.  (If you are viewing this in your email - you may need to click on the title to load the video.)

Below is a card that I received from one of my team members, Patti Barish.  She used the Ornate Garden Suite of products to make cards for several other Stampin' Up! demonstrator friends.  We had a zoom meeting recently and shared the cards she sent us.  They were all different - and all BEAUTIFUL.

Her card uses the same fold as the cards I made - except she cut the Designer Series Paper a little narrower and then she attached the panel on the right to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of coordinating card stock.  It adds a nice finishing touch to the card.  She did not glue down the panel to the left - so you get a beautiful view of all those flowers.

The Ornate Garden Suite is an early release from the upcoming new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.
Ornate Garden Suite Early Release

You can find all of these products in my online store BY CLICKING HERE.  Please note that you can purchase these items through May 31.  Then they won't be available to order until the new catalog goes live on June 3.  All of these products are GORGEOUS in real life.  The Designer Series paper has a beautiful shimmer to it.  And those Ornate Layers Dies are going to be a "Must Have."   Patti used the dies to cut that beautiful white piece where she wrote her sweet note.

Let's Stamp A Little!

It's been over two months since I've been able to have stamp classes here at my house.  I have been doing a lot of stamping - but a BIG part of the fun is stamping with other people.  We are making the best of it by sending each other "Happy Mail" - and having zoom meetings, but I sure do miss stamping with my friends in person.

Even with the states starting to open - I'm not planning "in person" classes anytime soon.  I'm of a particular age.....and also was recently diagnosed with one of those "underlying medical issues."  I really don't want to take any chances until I know it will be safe for me as well as my friends.

In the meantime,  I'm trying to find a place for my stamping business online.   I may be a little late to the party, but please watch the video below - and learn how you can help!

Even if you think you are NOT creative - PLEASE join the group anyway and over the next 6-7 days read my posts, watch the videos, and then comment and share.   I will be giving away prizes and gifts - so please join the fun and invite a friend to join!  If you don't like what you see - then leave the group at the end of the "party".  But I hope you will stay and see what else I have planned - including ZOOM classes and hopefully a virtual version of  my famous Birthday Bingo in July!

Of course I would love to sell a kit or two (OK maybe a little more than that!)  Many of the kits and projects I plan to feature are perfect activities to do with the entire family. But the main goal for the next 7 days is to have more people visit and view my social media platforms.

The other night I was watching The Tonight Show and Jimmy Fallon was talking to Mo Willems (author/illustrator of children's books.) This is what Mo said about the pandemic:

"Science will get us out of this but art will get us through it."

This is so true for me!  I can not explain how much stamping has helped me the past few months.  Making cards keeps my mind busy - and off of what's being reported on the news 24/7.   I am so happy to hear from the people who have enjoyed receiving my cards - because the cards seem to be arriving when a little "pick me up" is needed.

So I hope for the next few days - when you are checking your FB feed - you will stop to read my posts, watch a video, share with others, leave a comment, and maybe give stamping a try.

You can join my new Facebook Group by clicking on this link: "Let's Stamp a Little."

Look for this photo as the page header - so you know you're in the right place:

Hope to see you there!

Quick & Easy Fun Fold Card using Designer Series Paper - video tutorial

We are getting closer and closer to the launch of the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog - on June 3, 2020.  If you are an avid crafter like me - I'm sure you have a HUGE stash of Designer Series Paper.  This is an EASY card to make and a GREAT way to use up some of that patterned paper - so you can buy more!

I received the card below from my Stampin' Up! upline (the person who signed me up as a demonstrator.)  I thought it was so cute - that I had to make several of them right away.
I didn't have the cute paper she used to make her card - but that's the great thing about this style of card.  You can use whatever you have on hand.

Below is one I made using the FREE AS A BIRD stamp set and coordinating Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.  Luckily, this stamp set is NOT retiring, but the gorgeous DSP is.  So grab the paper now - before it's too late.  You can purchase it HERE - for 30% off - while supplies last through June 2.  You'll have another year to purchase the stamp set!

I made the card below using the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper and Memories and More card Pack.  The card pack makes it super easy to whip up a bunch of cards - with lots left overs for other cards or for scrap booking your tropical/beach events.  This paper and the card pack are both retiring at the end of May 2020 - so get it now!  Get the paper HERE and the card pack HERE.

Below is another card that I made using the Tropical Oasis DSP and Memories & More cards.  Watch the video further down to see how EASY it is to make these cards.

Here's the video:

I hope you will give this kind of card a try!

Another Piece of Cake - Quick and Easy

I just can't stop playing with the the Piece of Cake stamp set from Stampin' Up!  I have had this stamp set and coordinating punch for over a year - and just inked it up for the first time a few weeks ago!  I made several birthday bridge cards that you can see HERE  I was having so much fun building the little cake shops.  Even though that card was really not difficult to make - it was a little time consuming.  These cards are more on the quick and easy side.

I also wanted to feature the retiring 6x6 Designer Series paper packs, which come in each of the color families.  I LOVE this gingham pattern and am sad to see it retire.  You can purchase it at a discount, through June 2 or while supplies last.

Share Sunshine

Here are a few cards that I made using the Share Sunshine PDF Download from Stampin' Up!  This is a digital download with 15 pages of images relevant to the current social distancing situation.

As part of Stampin' Up!'s Making a Difference program, 100% of the proceeds from the Share Sunshine PDF Download will go to COVID-19 efforts through these organizations:

  • The World Health Organization’s COVID-Solidarity Response Fund
  • United Way Worldwide’s COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund
You will be able to choose which organization you want to receive your donation when you check out.

As you can see, these cards are super easy to make - you will just need to cut the images apart, add a little patterned pattern and glue it all to a card!  You don't need any fancy tools - just a scissors will work!  Use a cup, bowl, lid, etc... to trace around the words you want in the shape of a circle.

What a fun project this would be for your family.  Get creative - have some fun - forget about your troubles for a little while - then send the cards to your friends and family.  Be sure to write a personal note inside!

Below are photos I took of some of the pages - so you can see some of the fun images included in this download.  You can print the pages you like - as many times as you like.

Please consider purchasing the download.  Remember 100% of the proceeds are going to the Covid relief funds.  As of Tuesday morning, over $161,000 has been raised for these charities.  The download will be available until June 2, unless Stampin' Up! decides to extend the promotion.

If you purchase the download and make cards, please be sure to share on social media using the hashtag #sharesunshine.

Please do not hesitate to CONTACT ME if you have any questions.
