Emboss it!

Did you see the video I posted on Monday - with 14 cards made using the Hydrangea Haven stamp set?  If not CLICK HERE to see it. Today I want to feature the two cards that are made using embossing folders that will be retiring on May 3.  These are two embossing folders that add beautiful details to cards and I would not want you to miss out on getting them!  They are both on sale - while supplies last or until May3 (which ever occurs first.)

I used the Scripty embossing folder to make the card shown above.  It is a 6x6 folder with lines of cursive writing.  It is just so beautiful and adds a bit of elegance to the card.

Basic directions for making this card:
  • Gorgeous Grape card base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2
  • Basic White card stock 4 x 5-1/4, embossed using the Scripty embossing folder
  • Designer Series Paper strips (3 of them ) 1/2 x 4
  • Stamp the hydrangea on a piece of Basic White card stock using Memento Ink; stamp the "fill" for the leaves and stem using Old Olive ink then use die to cut out the entire flower
  • Cut a flower head from a piece of Hydrangea Hill designer series paper using the detailed die
  • Cut an "outline" of the flower head from Highland Heather card stock - and placed it behing the designer series paper piece.
  • Layer all pieces on the card base using the photo as a guide.
  • Add Pastel Pearls, if desired

For the card above, I used the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder.  This is one of my absolute favorites.  If you could see this in real life - you would see that it amost sparkles, like a real diamond.  Again, it is such an easy way to add elegance to any card.

Basic Directions for making this card:
  • Highland Heather card base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2
  • Gorgeous Grape mat layer 4 x 5-1/4
  • Basic White embossed layer 3-3/4 x 5
  • Wrap Gorgeous Grape ribbon around the white layer and tie in a bow
  • Purple Posty label, cut with Stitched Nested Label die
  • Greeting is from Best Year stamp set
  • Flowers are cut (using scissors) from a piece of Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper
  • Layer all pieces on the card base using the photo as a guide.
  • Add Pastel Pearls, if desired

You will need a Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine from Stampin' Up! or other comparable machine, to use the embossing folders.  Below are some of the products featured on these cards. 14 Hydrangea Haven cards - video overview

Watch the video to see 14 cards that I made using the Hydrangea Haven stamp set and coordinating products.  (If you are viewing this in your email - you may need to click on the title to load the video.)

I was happy to see this stamp set, coordinating dies, ribbon, and pearls in the 2021-22 Annual Catalog (which will be available on May 4.)  But sadly, the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series paper is NOT in the new catalog.  So if you like the first 7 cards that I made - make sure you purchase the DSP while it is still available.

Below is an extensive list of the products that I used to make these cards.  Many are on the last chance list - which you can view by CLICKING HERE.   I will be featuring several of these cards later this week - so stop by for measurements and tips for making them!

If you have any questions in the meantime - just CONTACT ME with your questions.  I am here to help!

My Favorite Things #1

I hope everyone had a Blessed Easter.  It was a beautiful spring day here.  After dinner, we took a walk around the neighborhood and it was so nice to see all neatly manicured lawns and lots of blossoms and blooms.

I only made two Easter cards this year.  The card above features the Wildly Happy stamp set that is retiring.  It's a cute set, mainly designed for welcoming a new baby.  But I thought the bunnies were perfect for an Easter card.  This card could not be easier to make.  It is actually a note card, a layer of (retired) designer paper, and then the image stamped on a Stitched Shape oval.  I added the "Happy Easter" from a retired stamp set.

The Stitched Shapes dies are the #1 thing I will miss from the current annual catalog.  These dies are so versatile - and my "go to" set of dies. Sadly, they are only available through May 3, 2021 - while supplies last.  They will definitely stay in my collection - and I would encourage you to grab a set before they sell out, if you don't already own them.  The set includes 4 oval dies, 4 circle dies, and 4 square dies.  They also coordinate perfectly with the Layering Ovals and Layering Squares dies, both which are also retiring.

Click on any image below to add this item to you wish list or to your shopping cart!

The cute card pictured above, was made with several circle punches, the retired bird builder punch, and other retired punches.  I am so sad to see that several of the circle punches are retiring from the current annual catalog.  Yes, there are circle dies - but punches are so much quicker and so much easier!  I will never give them up!
