Countdown to Christmas

Can you believe that Christmas will be here in just 3 short months?!   I would LOVE the chance to help you make your Christmas cards this year!  Pictured below are several cards that I made using the Snow Wonder bundle.  If you would like to use any of these designs for your Christmas cards this year - I would be happy to cut and prep the supplies for you, if you purchase them from me, of course.  Let me do all the "prep" work - and you can just stamp and assemble!

The card above is the first one that I made with this stamp set.  I'm not sure if you can tell that I embossed the white piece of cardstock using the Evergreen Forest embossing folder. I also added a bit of shimmer using the Wink of Stella pen.  I have a video tutorial for making this card on my You Tube Channel, and I will post it here on my blog next week.

The card above is made using Snowflake Spendor Designer Series Paper.  The card stock and ink color is Pool Party.

The card above is one of my favorites  The card stock colors are Crumb Cake and Shaded Spruce.  I used a white water color pencil to color the snow on the trees and snowman.  The snowman is popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Below are some of the products I used to make these cards.  Click on the image to add the item to your shopping bag.  I made several more cards using this stamp set - some I share on the video tutorial for the first card (above.)  I will share the others later.

Using Adhesive Sheets

I was cutting lots of dies over the weekend - getting ready for World Card Making Day - and thought I would make a video to show you how I use Adhesive Sheets from Stampin' Up! to adhere word dies to my projects.  These adhesive sheets are kind of hidden on the adhesives page - and if you never used them before, you may not know how they work.

Watch the video to see how I use these adhesive sheets - and to get a small peek at the FREE card you could make!   (If you are viewing this in your email - you may need to click on the title to load the video.)

World Card Making Day is Coming!

Please plan to celebrate World Card Making Day with me on Saturday October 3.  I have already begun to mail FREE card kits to friends and family, and I would LOVE to send a FREE card kit to YOU, too, with no obligation to buy anything!  I am hoping that after you make the card - you will send it to someone to brighten his/her day.  I'm sure you can think of someone who would love to receive a hand made card in the mail!

On October 3, I will post a video in my Let's Stamp A Little Facebook group - showing you how to make the card.  If you are not on FB - I can send you a link to the video on You Tube.

I will have a few games for you to play on Facebook that day - with prizes of course!  I will also be selling retired Stampin' Up! products at a discounted price, and I will be selling completed cards and card sets - ready for you to send out or to give as gifts.

Please E-MAIL ME NOW if you would like a FREE card kit - and let me know your mailing address.  If your kit comes after the 3rd - the video will still be available for you to watch.

I can not express how much stamping and card making has helped get me through the last 6 months of quarantine and social distancing.  I hope I have brought a little happiness to all the people that I have sent cards to during the past few months.

Mystery Stamping #2

We did another Mystery Stamping "Make and Take" at our team meeting on Saturday.  Clue #1 was a list of supplies that we were supposed to gather - then at the meeting we were given "clues" to make the cards.  It was interesting to see how everyone interpreted the directions - or adapted the supplies to make the cards.  The meeting was on Zoom - so we could not "cheat" and look at each other's cards.  It was a little stressful for me - wondering if I was doing it "right."  But in the end - I am really happy with how it turned out - and I might even make this card again.  I think I would leave the green "vine" off the card and just use the tree punches.

Below is the inside of the card.  I am trying to decorate the inside of my cards - as well as the envelopes.

Cutting dimensions for this card:
Mossy Meadow card base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4; plus scrap to punch tree & "vine"
Real Red card stock: 4 x 5 1/4 inches (embossed)
Pear Pizzazz card stock: 2 1/4 X 4 1/4 inches
Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper: 2 x4 inches, scrap to punch tree, 3/4 x 5 1/4 for inside decoration
Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4 for inside card

Additional Supplies needed to make this card:
Subtle Embossing Folder
Christmas Layers dies
Pine Tree punch
Snowman Season stamp set, clear block, and Real Red ink
Linen Thread
All the Trimmings Embellshments

Below are several cards that were made during our Mystery Stamping!

Good Luck!

It is rare for me to post two days in a row - but I guess I have that "Back to School" excitement - even though I quit my teaching job over a year ago.   I first posted this card 4 years ago when I made it for my son's first day of school when he was a Senior in High school.  You can see that post BY CLICKING HERE.

Ben is now a "senior" at the Virginia Militay Institute, although they do not use the term senior.  He is considered a "First" this year.  Sadly, he will not be able to enjoy many of the privledges that he has earned - since all Cadets are required to stay on post for the semester and are not allowed visitors.  So that means no football games, no parent weekend, and no Thanksgiving!  Well, there will be a Thanksgiving, but he won't be allowed to come home to celebrate with us.  That is - if they make it that long without an outbreak of Covid.  So far so good - praying hard that everyone will stay healthy.  I know he wants to be there with his "Brother Rats."

I don't have directions or supplies for this project.  Most of the pieces are either retired or hand cut.  It looks like the silver top of the clipboard was made using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch - so if you wanted to make a similar card - you could start with that,

So......for everyone heading back to school today - whatever that looks like for you and your family - I wish you luck!  I'll be praying for!

Enjoy!

It's Labor Day here in the USA - the unofficial last day of summer and the last day before most public schools begin classes.  This card is for all my teacher friends - I hope you take time to relax, have fun, and enjoy this last day of summer break.  What an interesting school year it is sure to be!   Whether you are teaching in person, virtually, or home schooling your own children, I will be praying for you all.

I was inspired to make this card from a card I saw on Pinterest by Amy Koenders.  I used several retired products on this card - including the embossing folder, the "enjoy" die cut,  and the chair die cut.

Basic Supplies used for making this card - all Stampin' Up!:

Coastal Cabana card stock for card base
Pool Party layer: 4x3" embossed using High Seas embossing folder (retired)
Crumb Cake layer: 4 x 2"; stamped using "sand" image from Seaside Notions stamp set
Coastal Cabana strip: 4 x 1 1/4
"enjoy" die cut is from the Mini Treat Bags die (retired)
Anirondack chair is from Seasonal Layers dies (retired)
So Saffron 2" circle for the sun

This card could be used for many other occasions including Retirement, Birthday, and Thinking of You.
