Saturday Sketch #1

Here's a quick and easy card that I made using a sketch challenge from a demonstrator group I am in.  I decided to use the December Product of the Month to make my card.  As of today, this paper - TRUE BLUE FLORALS - is still available for only $5 when you place a $75 order from my online store.  

Blue is my favorite color - but I wasn't WOWed by this paper - until I actually started cutting into it.  The designs are crisp and clear and coordinate beautifully with each other - so don't miss out on this paper!  It is only available while supplies last.

Measurements for today's card (inches): 

• Balmy Blue card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2; scored at 4-1/4
• Dark Blue DSP layer: 3 x 5
• White DSP layer: 2-3/4 x 4
• Light Blue DSP layer: 2-1/4 x 3
• White sentiment piece: Three Banner Punch

Saturday Sketch ?!

All last year (2025) I tried to post a sketch card every Saturday - as part of a weekly challenge I am participating in with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  I got behind a few times.........travel,  a trip to the ER, my daughter's wedding, and life in generla sometimes got in the way.  

I decided to play "catch up" last week - and for some reason I decided to post SIX cards that I made using sketches.  (You can see them HERE.)  

With being in a bit of a post holiday slump - I did not make a card for this week's challenge (yet!) so I don't have a sketch card to post today!  But the card above is a quick and easy  template for making a card using any supplies you already have in your stash!

Measurements for today's card:

• Thick Basic White card stock base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2; scored at 4-1/4
• Real Red card stock mat: 5-1/4 x 4
• Flirtly Flamingo card stock (embossed): 5 x 3-3/4
• Real Red Mat: 3-1/4 x 3-1/4
• White DSP piece with image/greeting: 3 x 3

Tips for making this card:

• Use Two-Tone card stock from Stampin' Up! for the Real Red layers, to reduce bulk and weight of the card

• The Two-Tone card stock also allows some of the white core to show on the embossed layer - for a more textured look.

• You could also omit the card stock and the card would still be beautiful

• The red/white Baker's Twine is wrapped around the two card stock layers BEFORE adhering to the card front.

• Use Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the square image/sentiment piece.

Saturday Sketches

I am in a Stampin' Up! demonstrator group - and each week we are given a sketch challenge.  For the past year I have tried to make a card using the weekly sketch to post on my blog.  There were a few times during the year that I got behind - and then I got WAY behind during the holidays.  So today I am playing "catch up" and sharing several cards  that I made using sketches - most with products from the new Jan/April 2026 mini catalog.

The five cards below are made using a new pack of 6x6 designer series paper called LOVE NOTES, which is featured in the Stampin' Up! January-April 2026 mini catalog.

 

The  6th card shown in the photo above - is a New Year's card, which I posted about earlier this week.  You can see that blog post HERE.
