Saturday Sketch #3

Here's a card that I made using a sketch challenge from a demonstrator group I am in. I used the Hobby Haven Designer Series paper to make this card.

This pack of paper is great for making cards for your friends who like sewing/knitting, books/reading, spas, baking, and plants.

This paper pack also includes two sheets of coordinating die cuts - making it a perfect pack for scrapbooking on these same themes.

Here are the papers included in this pack.

Here is the sketch that I used to make my card.

I used vellum for the "tag" layer - because I didn't want to cover up so much of the patterned paper.  I cut the vellum with a punch - then embossed with an embossing folder.  Finally I added ink to the piece using using a blending brush.  I probably wouldn't have added this detail to my card if I wasn't doing this sketch challenge.

Here are some of the products I used to make my card:

Homework and Show & Tell

As you may know, I like to give my stamp club members homework at the end of each class.  This keeps them stamping in between our monthly classes.  Below are the cards that were brought back to June's meeting.  The homework assignment was to use vellum.

Sometimes stampers will also bring Show & Tell - something else that they have made between our monthly meetings. I always enjoy seeing these projects because then I know that my stampers are using the products and tools they buy!  Below are the Show & Tell items shared at my June classes.

I hope I didn't miss posting any of the projects.  I often forget to take a photo and sometimes I use my phone instead of my camera to take pics.  So I sometimes miss a photo or two.

Counting Down to Christmas!

Only 11 months until Christmas!  It is never too early to start working on your hand made Christmas cards!  Start now and save yourself the stress later!  The cards above are 3 cards I received in an organized SWAP at Convention last year.  They are all fairly easy to duplicate.

Happy New Year - part 2

I saw a card similar to this when I was looking at some other stamping blogs.  This was a quick and easy card to make.  The card uses Very Vanilla as the base.  The black shape is cut using the Big Shot and Labels Collection Framelits.  The stems of the glasses are made from vellum card stock using a tag punch.  The tops of the glasses are made from glimmer paper and a small oval punch (retired.)  The bubbles are rhinestones.  The greeting is from the  Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set - a set I find myself using all the time.  It has 24 greetings - something for just about every occasion you can imagine!  And they each work perfectly with the Word Window and Modern Label punches.
