Saturday Sketch #12

Here is another Saturday Sketch card for you to try!  I made this card using the Lovely Blossom Designer Series Paper and the Forever Florals stamp set from Stampin' Up! - both products are Online Exclusives - so you may have missed seeing them!  This is a quick and easy card - that would work great with any patterned paper and coordinating card stock.

Below is the sketch that I used to make my card.

As you can see, I changed the focal image from ovals - to circles and I centered the rectangle piece on the card front.  That is the great thing about sketches - you can use them for inspiration - and change them however you want!  Use the measurements below to make a card like mine!

Measurements for this card (inches):

• Old Olive card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2; scored at 4-1/4
• Cloud Cover mat: 5 x 3-3/4
• Basic White mat: 4-3/4 x 3-1/2
• DSP layer: 4-5/8 x 3-3/8
• Secret Sea strip: 5-1/2 x 1/4
• Cloud Cover stitched circle: 3"
• White stitched circle: 2-1/2

Below are some of the products that I used to make this card.  (Please note that I used the 12 x 12 Cloud Cover two tone card stock and White Willow for the layers - because it adds less bulk to the card.)

Saturday Sketch #9

Here's another sketch card for you to try - a quick and easy card that you can make using almost any pack of Designer Series Paper (DSP.)

I used the Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper, which was  February's Product of the Month.  This paper is still available at the time I am writing this post - but it is only available while supplies last.

I used the Textured Notes Dies to cut out a section from a piece of the patterened paper.  Then I cut a slightly large mat to place behind the die cut piece. I adhered it to the card front using dimensionals, and then I place it so it is lined it up with the bottom piece.

Unfortunately, this die set is on the last chance list at the time I am writing this post - so they could be sold out by the time I post this.  If they are still available - they are a great set to have, and they are also discounted 20%.

For the sentiment piece, I used the Three Banner Punch, but I put the strip of white card stock into the punch from the back - and only punched one end at a time.  This allowed me to make a longer sentiment piece.

Below is the sketch and completed card.

 Measurements to make this card (inches):

• Pretty Peacock card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4 
• largest Designer Series Paper layer: 4 x 5-1/4
• Pretty Peacock card stock mat: 3-1/2 x 2
• smaller DSP layer: 3-1/4 x 1-3/4  (I used the Textured Notes dies, which are on the last chance list at the time of writing this post.)
• Basic White strip for sentiment: 1/2 x 3-1/2

Saturday Sketch #8

Here's a card that I made using a sketch, from a demonstrator training group that I'm in. I wanted to make some projects using the Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper, which is  February's Product of the Month.  This paper is still available at the time I am writing this post - but it is only available while supplies last.

If you are not familiar with Stampin' Up!'s Product of the Month promotion - each month, a new and exclusive product is available to purchase for $5, with a $75 order.  These products are only available while supplies last - so if you see something you can't live without - be sure to order as soon as possible!

This paper has 4 double-sided patterns, and you get 3 of each design.  Great for making multiples of projects.  This is a bright, fun pack of paper.  Here are the papers you get in this pack.

Below is the sketch that I made to use my card - and as you can see, I followed the sketch very closely!  This is another Quick and Easy card that can be made with any patterned paper that you have in your stash.

Here's another sketch card for you - a quick and easy card that you could make using almost any pack of Designer Series Paper (DSP.)

The greeting on this card is from the Fabulous Sayings stamp set, which was January's Product of the Month.  Unfortuately, this set is no longer available - but there are several other products you can purchase for just $5, when you place a $75 order from my ONLINE STORE.

I followed the sketch almost exactly as shown - but I did mat two of the DSP pieces to make them "pop" a bit more.  

Measurements for today's card (inches): 

• Petal Pink card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2; scored at 4-1/4
• Secret Sea  DSP strip: 1 x 5
• Secret Sea mat: 3-5/8 x 3-1/8
• Bold Floral DSP layer: 3-1/2 x 3
• Secret Sea banner piece: 3-1/2 x 3/4; ends cut into a dovetail using scissors
• Secret Sea mat: 2-7/8 x 1-7/8
• Petal Pink DSP layer (for stamping sentiment): 2-3/4 x 1-3/4

*Note: for the Secret Sea mat layers, I used 12 x 12 two-tone card stock.  This card stock is a lighter weight than our regular 8-1/2 x 11 cards stock, which reduces the bulk/thickness of the finished card.
