This is my first official post-convention blog post.  What a fun and exciting time I had celebrating Stampin' Up!'s 25th anniversary (and my birthday, too!)  It was a non-stop party.  Here is a video of some of the highlights of Convention 2013.  If you watched The Voice, you might recognize Ryan Innes, who sang this year's theme song.

Convention Gifts

 These are shrinky dink bag tags/key rings that I made for my sister Southern Stars as a little convention gift.

 These are more shrinky dink key rings for other friends who were at convention.

I thought everyone knew about shrinky dinks, but when I was telling a friend about what I was making, she did not know what shrinky dinks were.  The top tag was printed on shrinky dink film and after it was in a toaster oven for a few minutes, it SHRUNK to the smaller size.  They are fun to watch as they curl up and then flatten back down when they are shrinking.

The Fan Favorite and the Random Winner

I realized that I never announced the winners for my Stamp Club Contest.  (Sorry!)  The card below was the one that received the most comments on the blog post.

 And I used random.org to choose the second winner, which was card 7.

This contest was so long ago that I am not sure if I remember correctly whose card is who!  So the winners will have to let me know and claim their prize the next time they are stamping with me in my rubber room!

Christmas SWAP

I will be participating in a Christmas Card SWAP at convention.  I did this organized SWAP last year and I received some nice cards, so I decided to join in the fun again this year.  It was a little harder for me to design a card this year, since there are no Christmas stamp sets in the annual catalog.  I used the Pennant Parade stamp set to make this card, and added some sparkle by embossing the stamped image using Iridescent Ice.  I used Champagne Glimmer Paper for the star and to separate the two embossed pieces of card stock.  I hand cut the black frame after running a piece of Basic Black card stock through the Big Shot using one of the Designer Frames embossing folders.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card.

Another Convention SWAP

 This is a SWAP I made for when I get together with my stamping "grandmother," Martha, and her group of stampers.  There will be over 20 of us - having an early dinner before the excitement of Opening Session begins.  I used several cards for inspiration when making this one, but it looks nothing like any of the originals!  The only stamping I did was the greeting in the corner using the hostess set, Simply Sketched.  The colors on this card are Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White.  I am hoping that Ben will make another video for me, so that I can show you how to make the flower using scallop punches.  Or better yet - gather a group of your friends and I will show you in person how to make this card!
