8 Weeks Until Christmas - Make a Memory kit - video tutorial

Today I am going to show you a kit that will make a great Christmas gift for all of your scrapbooking friends.  OR - you can make several gifts for your friends and family: just choose a favorite photo or two, follow the directions in the kit to make a page, and then frame it!  What a unique and thoughful gift!

It's the Make a Memory kit from Stampin' Up! - an online exclusive product that you may have missed if you only shop from our catalogs.

In the video below, I show you the contents of the kit - and several layouts I made using the supplies in the kit.  I did add some additional card stock, ribbon, and embellishments to complete some of my pages.  But this kit includes A LOT of "extras" to help you make great pages.  Follow the directions - or get creative and do your own thing!

Below are some of the other layouts I made with this kit.

Saturday Sketch

Christmas is just  2 months away! Here's a card I made for a sketch challenge for a demonstrator training group I am in.  I love doing these sketches - they have helped me get a lot of cards made this year!

Here is the sketch that I used to make my card.

9 Weeks Until Christmas - Video Tutorial

Just 9 weeks until Christmas!  Have you started making your Christmas cards yet?  Here is one of the cards that I was working on last week, and will be sending it out to some of the people on my Christmas card list.

I originally made the card below - when I first purchased the Branching Out bundle.  This stamp set is not really a Christmas one - but I saw a similar card on Pinterest - and thought the snow tipped branches would make a BEAUTIFUL holiday card.

I also made the card using different card stock colors, including Shaded Spruce and Night of Navy.  Instead of stamping a Christmas greeting from another stamp set - I used greetings from the Greetings for You Mix & Max Ephemera Pack.  There are A LOT of different self-adhesive greetings in the package.  These greetings are very sturdy and most of the time I attached them using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I added ribbon or twin to the stamped layer - before attaching it to the card front.  You may notice that I also embossed the bottom layer of Crumb Cake card stock - which adds a beautiful look to the card.  I used a retired embossing folder (Timber) on my card.

Watch the video below to see how I made this card.

Here are the pieces you will need to make the original card.

Below are some of the products I used to make these cards.  Click on any image to add it to your shopping cart.  When you place an order of $75 or more through Friday October 24 - you will receive FREE SHIPPING - and you will also earn Stampin' Rewards!

Saturday Sketch

Here are two cards that I made using the same sketch - for a sketch challenge from a demonstrator training group I am in.

Here is the sketch I used to make my cards:

I followed the sketch closely - except I substituted the hearts in the sketch for other small die cuts and a greeting. I used  Christmas Tags and More 6x6 Specialty Designer Series Paper, Christmas Greetings Mix & Match Specialty cards & envelopes, and the Greetings for You Mix & Match Ephemera Pack - all from Stampin' Up! - to make these cards.

How to make today's cards:
  • The plaid card bases are from the Christmas Greetings Mix & Match specialty cards and envelopes.  They are a little larger (4-1/4 x 6-1/4) than a regular card base (4-1/4 x 5-1/2) and are a nice size for holiday cards.  They have beautiful gold foiling on them!
  • The Garden Green or Real Red card stock banner is 2 x 5-1/4. Cut a 1/2"  notch out of the bottom.
  • The stockings and tree images are 2 x 3" pieces, cut from the Christmas Tags and More designer paper.
  • Both of the above pieces are matted on 2-1/4 x 3-1/4 piece of gold foil.
  • I used die cut pieces from the designer paper and added greetings from the Greetings for You Mix & Match Ephemera pack.
  • I added a bow using Real Red & White baker's twine.
  • (After I took the photo of these cards - I decided to add some Iridescent dots on the card front.)

Below are some of the products I used to make these cards.  Click on any image to add the item to your shopping cart.
