Quick and Easy Thank You Cards

These are some of the Thank You cards that I made - after I returned from my trip to Nashville. I plan to send a personal, handwritten note to each person who attended my mini scrapbook class that I taught at the National Railway Convention.  I am also planning to send one to each family who allowed us to visit their Garden Railways.

For those of you who may not know about Garden Trains - these are large scale trains that people set up in their back yards.  Below are a few photos that I took of some of the layouts.  Some of the displays were just amazing!  My husband decided this would be a good retirement hobby, and is currently building a layout in our back yard.

Below are a few of the cards I made, using the leftover "scraps" from the scrapbook.  The designer paper has long since retired - but I thought the "grungy" look was perfect for a train scrapbook.  As you can see, they all look different - depending on the card base and DSP I used. Because the cards were made with Stampin' Up! supplies, the color coordination between the patterned paper and card stock is PERFECT!

Basic Directions for Making these Cards:
  • Card stock card base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4
  • Designer Series Strips: 1-1/4 x 4 (you will need three pieces)
  • Cardstock strip: 1/2 x 4-1/4
  • Basic White 2" card stock circle for stamped image
  • Sunburst punch (retired) for coordinating card stock behind stamped image

Making Memories Again

Watch the video to see a quick overview of a mini scrapbook I made to preserve memories from an upcoming trip to Nashville.  I am excited about teaching a clinic at the National Garden Railway Convention, where participants will be making a book like this.  Photos can be added after the convention is over.

IF YOU ARE ATTENDING THE CONVENTION AND WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND THE CLINIC -  SPACES  ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR BOTH THE WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY CLINIC.  CONTACT ME FOR DETAILS.

I used retired Designer Series paper to make these albums and several Cricut die cuts.  If you are interested in any of the elements you see on the pages, please CONTACT ME for pricing information.

I'm also excited about getting back to scrapbooking.  At the end of April, I went to my first scrapbook retreat in almost two years.  Six of us rented a retreat house in Pennsylvania - it was great to get away and craft.  I almost finished my daugher's birthday scrapbook; I just need to add a few dates and put the pages into page protectors.  I did a layout for each of her birthdays from age 1 - 18.  (Maybe I should mention that she just turned 27.)

I have such a hard time "doing it all" - so while I was prepping the supplies for the 26 albums I need for the clinic - I neglected to do my regular card making and videos.  In my defense, I also was caring for my dog, Cookie, before she passed away earlier this month.  In addition to 3 family birthdays in April and May, my son also graduated from the Virginia Military Institute on May 16 - and we were away for a long weekend of activites for that.

Hopefully, I will be able to get back to creating new projects and posting on a regular basis again. AND I hope to start "in person" classes soon.

BUT my husband and I have already planned two more vacations for this year, ordered tickets for 3 concerts, purchased season tickets to a local university theater, and we have tickets for several minor league baseball games.  SO, I may be a bit busy as I start doing more things out of the house!  I also have two more scrapbook retreats planned this year - and hope to organize one myself.  I need to learn how to manage my time better!

If you have any questions about the scrapbook - or anything about Stampin' Up!, do not hesitate to CONTACT ME..  I am here to help.
