Saturday Sketch

I'm still trying to catch up with the sketches from my demonstrator training group - that I missed during the summer.  Today's card is a fall themed birthday card, and made with products that will be ONLINE EXCLUSIVES from the "Gathering Together" suite, available beginning September 3.  The greeting is from another new stamp set, Branching Out, from the September-December 2025 mini catalog, also availble beginning September 3.

This card has quite a few layers, and is one I probably would not have made if I wasn't using a sketch.

Details about this card:

  • Card base is Early Espresso
  • The next layer is Cajun Craze 2-tone card stock, which I embossed using a new (on Sept. 3) embossing folder called Gathering Leaves.
  • The leaf paper is from the new "Gathering Together" 12 x 12" designer series paper pack.
  • The Early Espresso strip that is across the card - is from the same paper pack.
  • I added another Cajun Craze 2-tone card stock piece - embossed with Gathering Leaves.  But this time I lightly sanded the paper to expose the white core center of the 2-tone card stock.
  • The final layers are for the greetings: a stitched circle and another thin strip of designer paper from Gathering Together.

Check my ONLINE STORE on September 3 to see the new online exclusives as well as the September-December mini catalog.  If you would like to receive a copy of the catalog, please CONTACT ME.

After almost two months of crazy life events and not finding time to post on my blog - things are finally getting back to normal and I am ready to share some of the projects I have been working on.  I am WAY behind on the weekly sketches from my demonstrator training group - so I will try to post TWO sketches on Saturdays - until I can catch up.

    Saturday Sketch #23

Here is the card that I made using the weekly sketch from a demonstrator training group I am in. I started with a thick white card base, then added a white layer, embossed with the Mini Corrugated 3D embossing folder.  Don't let the name fool you - this is a 6x6 inch folder - it's the corrugation that is mini!

I cut a circle from the Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper, then layed it on white card stock, die cut from the Stylish Shapes dies.  (These dies are a MUST HAVE!!!)

The sentiment is from the Cheers and Sips stamp set.  I think the Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink embellishments would be a perfect finishing touch for this card - but I haven't bought them yet.  So, I used the Holographic Resin dots instead. They actually look like bubbles - so work OK on this card.

I added some Strawberry Slush ribbon - and my card is done!  A simple, fun card to send for a birthday or any summer celebration.

I glued some patterned paper to the envelope flap - to give it an extra special touch!

Below is the sketch that I used to make my card.

Here are some of the products I used to make this card. Click on any image for more details and to add it to your shopping bag in my online store:

    Saturday Sketch #22

Here is the card that I made using the weekly sketch from a demonstrator training group I am in.  I wanted to use a piece of Beautiful Gallery 6x6 Designer Series Paper.  I am trying to make a card using every design that comes in this pack!

    • I used Secret Sea card stock for the card base.
    • I used the Distressed Tile embossing folder on a piece of Basic Beige card stock.  This folder is on the LAST CHANCE LIST - so get it while you can (at the discounted price of $8.
    • The accent strip is Calypso Coral card stock.
    • For the greeting, I used an Online Exclusive bundle called More Messages.

The More Messages bundle includes one large stamp - that stamps 19 different greetings.  The die cuts out all 19 sentiments at once.  You could use the die without the stamp set - to cut our blank labels to have ready whevever you need to stamp a sentiment.

Below is the sketch I used to make the card.
