Saturday Sketch

I'm still trying to catch up with the sketches from my demonstrator training group - that I missed during the summer.  Today's card is a fall themed birthday card, and made with products that will be ONLINE EXCLUSIVES from the "Gathering Together" suite, available beginning September 3.  The greeting is from another new stamp set, Branching Out, from the September-December 2025 mini catalog, also availble beginning September 3.

This card has quite a few layers, and is one I probably would not have made if I wasn't using a sketch.

Details about this card:

  • Card base is Early Espresso
  • The next layer is Cajun Craze 2-tone card stock, which I embossed using a new (on Sept. 3) embossing folder called Gathering Leaves.
  • The leaf paper is from the new "Gathering Together" 12 x 12" designer series paper pack.
  • The Early Espresso strip that is across the card - is from the same paper pack.
  • I added another Cajun Craze 2-tone card stock piece - embossed with Gathering Leaves.  But this time I lightly sanded the paper to expose the white core center of the 2-tone card stock.
  • The final layers are for the greetings: a stitched circle and another thin strip of designer paper from Gathering Together.

Check my ONLINE STORE on September 3 to see the new online exclusives as well as the September-December mini catalog.  If you would like to receive a copy of the catalog, please CONTACT ME.

Back to School

It's the first day of school here in Chesapeake, VA so I decided to make a quick card to mark the  occasion.  This card could not get any easier to make.  I punched the apple from designer paper using a retired punch.  Then I trimmed a piece of paper from one of my many notebooks to 3" x 4".  The stamped greeting is from one of my favorite sets, Best Year.  Change the greeting and this could be a great thank you or birthday card for any teacher.

I must say that I am so grateful to be retired from teaching for a few years now, so I haven't had to deal with all the Covid related issues.  It is a tough time for both teachers and students, so I hope everyone who is going back to school will have a safe and excellent school year - the best one yet!

Painted Harvest Stamp Club Cards

These are some of the cards I made using the Painted Harvest stamp set from Stampin' Up!  They were all inspired by cards I've seen on Pinterest.   We made three of these cards at my stamp club class on Sunday.  I focused on fall themed cards - but as you can see, by changing the ink colors this set could be used all year long for all occasions.

This is a two step stamp set.  The flowers were made by stamping the flowers first with Daffodil Delight ink, and then Tangerine Tango. The flower's center was stamped using Early Espresso The leaves were stamped using Garden Green ink - stamping off first so that the green is a lighter shade. The words are also stamped using Early Espresso ink.  We also stamped a flower on the inside of the card.

Bingo Projects

Below are the  projects we made at our Bingo event on World Card Making Day.  Everyone made 4 cards - two each of two different designs.

This is the card that I designed for our first Bingo project.  The two leaves and the acorn stamps are from an incentive stamp set that is only available to Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  The other stamps in the set were given away as a BONUS prize for the first 10 people who signed up and paid for the event.  Below are two other greetings stampers could choose from when making their cards.

These cards were made using Crumb Cake card stock.  I used Crumb Cake ink to stamp the "splatter" using a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  I also used Crumb Cake ink to sponge the Very Vanilla strips.  The little wooden pieces were on the CLEARANCE RACK earlier in September.

Below is the second card that we made at Bingo.  It was designed by my team mate, Anna.

This card was made using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set - one of the most popular sets in the Stampin' U! catalog - and probably the oldest!  The trees were stamped using Versamark ink and then heat embossed with the NEW copper embossing powder.

Check back to learn how a MISTAKE - turned into something that everyone wanted on their cards!

Falling Leaves

This is one of the cards we made at Wendy's workshop last night. It is made using the "Falling Leaves" stamp set. The colors are Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, and Garden Green. Wendy is in my Stamp Club, and the totals from her workshop are going to be added to the totals from our club meeting.........earning her more FREE stuff, including an item from the new holiday mini catalog for only $10. Here are several other cards I made for Wendy as a hostess gift, using the same stamp set and some ribbon and brads she found at Michael's.
