January 2020 Stamp Class Cards

I had my stamp classes over the weekend and these are the cards we made.  Get a closer look at them by watching the short video below.

Here's a closer look at the inside of the "fancy fold" cards.

To make these cards:

  • Start with a quarter sheet of card stock (4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches) for the base of the card.  I used Flirty Flamingo card stock for the card on the left and real red for the card on the right.
  • Cut a coordinating piece of card stock for the mat behind the white part of the card.  For the card on the left, I cut Real Red card stock 3 1/4 x 4 1/2.  For the card on the right, I cut Flirty Flamingo card stock 4 x 5 1/4  Choose the look you like!
  • Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 4 1/4 x 9 3/4 and score the long side at 3 1/4 and 6 1/2
  • The Designer Series Paper is cut at 3 x 4
  • Decorate the panels using the Die Cut shapes from the Be Mine Stitched Dies and Meant to Be stamp set

Be Mine

These are some of the Valentine's cards I made when cutting into the All My Love designer series paper from Stampin' Up!  This paper is so pretty in real life!  I also used the Meant to Be Stamp set, coordinating Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, the Layering Circles Dies, and the sprig punch.
When I opened the Be Mine Framelits Dies, I was surprised to see all the extra dies that were included.  These dies can easily be used on their own - without the coordinating stamp set.  I used my Big Shot to cut out each of the shapes that is included in this set.  Then I glued them on a sheet of card stock which I can easily slip into a page protector for reference.  Two of the dies just make the stitching marks and can be used together with a larger die - or on their own to add interest to a project.  So many possibilities!

Meant to Be....1, 2, & 3

Below are three cards that I made using the ALL MY LOVE Designer Series paper and the MEANT TO BE stamp set and dies bundle from the new Occasions catalog from Stampin' Up!  You can't get much simpler than the card below.  I cut a piece of the patterned paper, adhered it to a Crumb Cake card base, and then stamped the greeting in the corner using Lovely Lipstick ink. #simplestamping

The card below is also very easy to make.  I started with a Lovely Lipstick card base.  I adhered a piece of designer series paper (4 x 3) to the top of the card front.  Then I stamped the greeting and small hearts on a 1 3/4 x 4 piece of Whisper White card stock, and adhered that to the bottom of the card.  This proves YOU can make a beautiful card with just paper, ink and stamps! #simplestamping

The last card I am showing you today is also easy - but you will need a Big Shot and a few dies.  (Come to one of my classes and use mine!)  The card base is Flirty Flamingo card stock.  I put a black card stock mat behind a piece of the designer series paper.  Then I cut two hearts from Whisper White card stock using the Be Mine Stitched Framelits dies.  Finally, I cut the "love" using the Sunshine Wishes dies.  I cut 3 of them using Basic Black card stock -glued them together using liquid glue - then glued it to the card front.

Of course I could have added ribbon or other embellishments to all of these cards.  But Stampin' Up! is encouraging us to reach out to new stampers - and to keep cards simple - to show how easy it is to make a beautiful card.

Come to one of my classes or events - and you I will help you get started on this creative journey!
