Make a Card Send a Card

Back in October - for World Card Making Day - I sent out several card kits and asked my friends and family to make the card and then send the card.  If you are one of the people who made the card with me - I hope you can find it and get it ready to mail!

If you did NOT get a card kit, and would like to make a card -  CONTACT ME by Friday November 13, and I will put one in the mail for you to make, and hopefully you will send it to someone you may not get to see for Thanksgiving.  The Designer Series Paper and card stock may not be the same as the paper I used in the video.

Watch the video below to see how easy it is to make the card - and watch until the end to see two other ways you can use the supplies to make a card.  Remember - this was originally made to share on World Card Making Day.

(If you are viewing this in your email - you may need to click on the title to load the video.)

Supplies included in the card kit:
  • 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 card base
  • 4 x 5-1/4 card stock layer
  • Designer series paper: 1-1/2 x 5
  • Two  pieces Designer Series Paper  1 x 5
  • Stitched Shaped Oval die cut
  • "Happy Thanksgiving" die cut
  • 4 x 5-1/4 Whisper White card stock for inside the card

Below is one of the cards I show in the video as an alternative way to use the supplies in the kit.  You have to watch the video until the end to see the other card.  If you join my PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP, Let's Stamp A Little - you will be able to see some of the cards that were made by my friends.

Thankful

Here is another card that we made at my stamp club classes.  We cut a piece of Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper and matted it on Early Espresso card stock - then layered that onto a Daffodil Delight card stock card base.  The greeting is from the Painted Harvest stamp set - stamped on a one inch strip of Whisper White card stock sponged with Early Espresso.  We finished the card by wrapping Linen Thread around the greeting piece and attaching two vellum leaves that were punched out using the new leaf punch.

Painted Harvest Stamp Club Cards

These are some of the cards I made using the Painted Harvest stamp set from Stampin' Up!  They were all inspired by cards I've seen on Pinterest.   We made three of these cards at my stamp club class on Sunday.  I focused on fall themed cards - but as you can see, by changing the ink colors this set could be used all year long for all occasions.

This is a two step stamp set.  The flowers were made by stamping the flowers first with Daffodil Delight ink, and then Tangerine Tango. The flower's center was stamped using Early Espresso The leaves were stamped using Garden Green ink - stamping off first so that the green is a lighter shade. The words are also stamped using Early Espresso ink.  We also stamped a flower on the inside of the card.

Bingo Projects

Below are the  projects we made at our Bingo event on World Card Making Day.  Everyone made 4 cards - two each of two different designs.

This is the card that I designed for our first Bingo project.  The two leaves and the acorn stamps are from an incentive stamp set that is only available to Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  The other stamps in the set were given away as a BONUS prize for the first 10 people who signed up and paid for the event.  Below are two other greetings stampers could choose from when making their cards.

These cards were made using Crumb Cake card stock.  I used Crumb Cake ink to stamp the "splatter" using a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  I also used Crumb Cake ink to sponge the Very Vanilla strips.  The little wooden pieces were on the CLEARANCE RACK earlier in September.

Below is the second card that we made at Bingo.  It was designed by my team mate, Anna.

This card was made using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set - one of the most popular sets in the Stampin' U! catalog - and probably the oldest!  The trees were stamped using Versamark ink and then heat embossed with the NEW copper embossing powder.

Check back to learn how a MISTAKE - turned into something that everyone wanted on their cards!

Thankful

This was one of the cards we made at my November stamp club classes.  It was quick and easy to make.  I was inspired by a SWAP card that was on display at the Stampin' Up! OnStage event I attended in Baltimore last month.

Pilgrim Projects

I am still catching up with posting my stamp club projects.  Here are two projects we made at my November classes - a Pilgrim card and matching Fry Box.  I CASED these projects from Tami White, another Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  I was searching Pinterest and found these cute projects.  They are easy to make - the trickiest part is cutting the scallop for the fry box.  Just tricky - not difficult!

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you are able to spend today with your family and/or friends.  We will have a quiet Thanksgiving at our house, since we have no extended family members living close to us.  In past years either my job or my husband's job often kept us from traveling the 8 or 14 hours to visit my/his family.  But this year it is my daughter who has to work later today at her retail job.

This is one of the cards we made at my November Stamp Club meetings.  We used the stamp set Gently Falling which uses the two step stamping technique.  This was going to be a lesson in using the stamp-a-ma-jig, but then I decided that it was better if the images did NOT line up perfectly.

While everyone was stamping the strip to make their card, they also stamped a half sheet of ivory card stock using the same leaf images.  Then they chose two pieces of coordinating cards stock.  Their homework is to make a card using those supplies.  I can hardly wait until next month to see what they will make!

CONTACT ME if you would like more information about my stamp clubs.

October's 3D Project

This was the 3D project we made at my October stamp club meetings.  It is a pumpkin made using Pumpkin Pie and Vellum card stock. We used the Big Shot to give the card stock texture before cutting into strips to make the pumpkin.  An electric tea light sits inside to make the pumpkin glow.  I think it would make a great favor for Thanksgiving Dinner.  This project was a hit with everyone who attended a club meeting this month.  I saw this project on Stampin' Connection - a website just for Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  CONTACT ME if you would like more information about my stamp clubs, or if you would like to learn how to make this cute little pumpkin.
