Happy Birthday, USA!

 In honor of our great nation's 240th birthday, I am making a pledge to help Bring Birthdays Back!  This #imbringingbirthdaysback movement started several months ago by one of Stampin' Up!'s awesome trainers, Shannon West.  You can read about her "movement" by CLICKING HERE.

The photo below shows a small portion of the birthday cards that I have been hoarding in my craft room since I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator 8 years ago.  These are cards we made in my classes, or SWAPS that I received at Stampin' Up! events.  Even though I teach classes on how to make these beautiful cards - I am guilty of NOT SENDING THEM!  I have fallen into the trap of sending a quick birthday message using social media.  But that is not nearly the same as opening up the mailbox and seeing an envelope with handwriting.  And oh, the excitement of opening up the envelope and seeing what's inside - especially if it is a hand crafted beauty!

What's Washi?

Several of my customers asked me what to do with washi tape - so I went on a hunt (thanks, Pinterest) to see what I could find!  This was the first card that we made at May's classes..  We used the now retired In Colors and coordinating washi tape. Super simple and you can make a card for just about any occasion by using the Crazy About You stamp set  and Hello You Thinlits.  We also used washi tape to decorate the inside of each card.
