Open House Projects and Winners

If you came to my “Get the Scoop” events last week, you could have made these cards. They are both made using the “Circle Circus” and “Teeny Tiny Wishes” stamp sets, and two of the new In Colors cardstock (Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry.) My guests also made other cards and a little favor box, which they filled with ice cream flavored hard candy. I know door prizes are supposed to be given out the day of the event………but I wasn’t quite prepared! So here is the list of door prize winners and what they won.
#1 Dawn- a package of dimensionals
#2 Nancy – a birthday balloon incentive stamp and Tempting Turquoise ink spot
#3 Dawn (again!) – popsicle cards
#4 Leighanna – a pencil case and two pencils
#5 Wendy – a card kit to make 4 cards
#6 Wendy (again!) – a card kit with 4 cards already made

Congratulations! Thanks to everyone who came! I will be having another gathering in my home this fall, as soon as my new craft room is finished!

July Club Project #2

The second project we made at our July stamp club meeting was this card, using the “Dream du Jour” stamp set. I wanted to show my club members another use for vellum. The image was stamped with black craft ink, and then embossed with clear powder. The color was added by using the Stamp ‘n Write markers on the back of the vellum, which gives it a more subtle look. The butterfly images were stamped on the Rose Red cardstock, using Versamark. There is a layer of patterned designer series paper under the vellum. I used the paper piercing tool to punch the holes for the brads. The dsp is attached to the black mat with SNAIL, but the vellum is only attached with the brads and is basically hanging free. I sent this card to my cousin’s daughter for her high school graduation. Thanks for looking.

Thank You Bouquet

This flower/candy bouquet was one of the gifts I gave to my hostess, Stephanie, at her workshop. I cut the flowers using the Big Shot and the Daisy Die #2. I gave the flowers, some candy, bamboo skewers, floral tape, and curling ribbon to my kids, and told them to make a bouquet like the one I saw on someone’s blog. (My apologies to the creative gal who came up with the original idea. I printed the photo without referencing where I got it from.) This kept Emily and Ben busy for all of 30 minutes (if that!) Super easy to make, and a cute little gift. Thanks for taking a look today!

The Winner Is!

I had a contest for my stamp club members. I asked them to make a card using the slider pop-up technique that I showed them at our June club meeting. Here are the cards my club members made:

I am so PROUD of how they turned out. I planned to share them at my Stampin’ Up demonstrator’s meeting and wanted to ask my “sister” demonstrators to choose the winner, but I forgot to take them with me. (Old age setting in………..lol.) So I asked Cliff and the kids to choose, and they chose...............

Nancy’s card! She made her card using the Big Bold Birthday stamp set. I was sad to see this set retire………it is one of my favorites. Oh well, there are lots of great new sets in the new catalog. For winning the contest, Nancy gets to choose a stamp set from my stash of extra hostess and Sale-A-Bration sets. Congratulations, Nancy! And thanks to Wendy, Glenda, Lyn, and Donna for also entering the contest.
