January's Stamp Club Projects

These are the projects we made at my January stamp club classes.  We usually make two cards and one "3D" item, but for January we made 5 cards instead.  There are so many awesome stamp sets and new products  in the Occasions catalog - that I wanted to feature several of them in my January classes.  Two of the cards also feature Designer Series Paper that you can only get for FREE during Sale-a-bration.  Those free papers are the "Carried Away" paper used on the hot air balloon card and the "Inside the Lines" paper that is used on the bottom right card.  It is cute paper that you can color in yourself - using Stampin' Up!s new Watercolor Pencils.  Check back to see each card up close and to learn more details about making them.

There are only 3 weeks left for you to earn your FREE Sale-a-bration items!

We made these cards at my October stamp club classes.  They were made using the leftover pieces from my SEPTEMBER PAPER PUMPKIN KIT.  I provided everyone with a card base, mat, and white piece of card stock.  We added some washi tape and other embellishments to jazz them up a bit!  Super quick and easy

Bingo Projects

Below are the  projects we made at our Bingo event on World Card Making Day.  Everyone made 4 cards - two each of two different designs.

This is the card that I designed for our first Bingo project.  The two leaves and the acorn stamps are from an incentive stamp set that is only available to Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  The other stamps in the set were given away as a BONUS prize for the first 10 people who signed up and paid for the event.  Below are two other greetings stampers could choose from when making their cards.

These cards were made using Crumb Cake card stock.  I used Crumb Cake ink to stamp the "splatter" using a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  I also used Crumb Cake ink to sponge the Very Vanilla strips.  The little wooden pieces were on the CLEARANCE RACK earlier in September.

Below is the second card that we made at Bingo.  It was designed by my team mate, Anna.

This card was made using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set - one of the most popular sets in the Stampin' U! catalog - and probably the oldest!  The trees were stamped using Versamark ink and then heat embossed with the NEW copper embossing powder.

Check back to learn how a MISTAKE - turned into something that everyone wanted on their cards!

July Stamp Club Projects

These are the projects we made at my July stamp club classes.  I couldn't decide whether to continue my birthday celebration or to celebrate Christmas is July.  So I did a little bit of both.  We made shaker cards, and some cute cards featuring Stampin' Up!'s fabulous Designer Series Paper.  Everyone loved learning how to make those puffy balloons that pop off the card!  And, as always, we made 3D item - this time a little candy treat!

Stop back to see these projects up close and to learn some tricks for making them!

Playful Palette

O
All of these cards were made using prints from the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack from Stampin' Up!  The card bases are made using three of the new 2016-2018 In Colors - Sweet Sugar Plum, Peekaboo Peach, and Emerald Envy.  One of the best things about Stampin' Up!'s products is the Coordination.  The card stock, designer series paper, ink, ribbon, etc....all match perfectly!

I used the stamp set from the Watercolor Wishes card kit to stamp the words on these cards.  Love that kit!  You get to make 20 cute cards, and when you are finished you have an awesome stamp set to use for making other projects.

Drapery Cards

Below are three cards using the Drapery Fold technique.   We made these cards at my June stamp club meetings.  (Yes, June; I am a little behind posting my projects!)  These cards are a great way to showcase Stampin' Up!'s fabulous Designer Series Paper.

For the two cards pictured above, I cut the paper a little differently and made more folds in the paper.  These cards were made using the same DSP - with different sides of the paper showing.

What's Washi?

I'm trying to catch up on posting my stamp club projects.  Several people have asked me about Washi Tape - so I searched Pinterest for ideas of what to do with it!   These were the first cards we made at my May stamp classes - made using washi tape and the now retired 2014-2016 In Colors card stock from Stampin' Up!  These were really quick and easy cards to make for any occasion.  For other ideas using Washi tape, check out myWASHI TAPE PINTEREST BOARD.

The words were cut out from the Hello You Thinlits Dies.  I asked my club members to use the black piece of card stock that was left after cutting out the words - and use it to make a card.  I had two people take that challenge and their cards are below:

Linda's card

Kelly's Card

Bingo!

Friday night was Bingo night - Stampin' Up! style.  We started with a delicious dinner and fun conversation.
Here is special gift I made for the stampers who prepaid on time!  I wanted to show how much I appreciate everyone who made the commitment to support  my Stampin' Up!  business!  The "paint can" contained monogrammed note cards, sticky notes & pen,  ribbon, and chocolate, of course!
Everyone received one of these  adorable clips.   My team member and Bingo co-host,  Anna, made these using a retired Stampin' Up! die, brand new Designer Series Paper (Affectionately Yours) and jumbo paper clips from a big box store.
Below are the door prizes for the night.  All you had to do was show up and have your name selected to get your choice of one of these items.  People who prepaid on time had their name entered twice!  Hint, hint: it pays to prepay!
Here are the Bingo players concentrating on the game.
Nancy was the first winner.  If I remember correctly, she won the first game the last time we played Bingo! Maybe it was the extra FREE bingo card that won the game for her.  She received an extra card for prepaying by the deadline.  (Do you see a theme here?) This time we let our winners pick the prize they wanted, and Nancy picked the prize everyone had their eyes on -  all 5 ink pads in the new In Colors!
Our second game had two winners. We use random.org to choose the ultimate winner, which was Judy.  She picked the new In Color Stampin' Write markers and a package of 12x12 card stock.
Diane picked a consolation prize from the door prizes - and chose a retired stamp set, "Best of Shelli."
After two games of Bingo. we took a break to stamp.  Everyone made their choice of two cards below, using the new In Colors ink, card stock, and ribbon.

Then, they made two of this cute card using the new stamp set, Pop of Paradise.
 Stampers concentrating on their work:
This is Margaret who is a friend and Stampin' Up! demonstrator who wanted to observe BINGO in preparation for hosting her first Bingo Stampin' Up! event on Sunday!
After our make and takes, we played three more games of Bingo.  Debbie won the Playful Palette designer series paper stack and the coordinating card stock.

Lisa won Flirty Flamingo card stock, stamp pad, ink refill, and ribbon.  This is sure to be the most popular of the new In Colors.
And our grand prize jack pot winner was Judy.  She was the first to cover her card, winning the $50 Stampin' Up! gift certificate - to choose her own prize(s) from the 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! annual catalog.

Everyone was asking for the date of the next bingo night.........so I guess they had a good time!  I'm thinking that Birthday Bingo sounds like a fun way to celebrate my birthday in July.  I'll get working on that right away!  Hope to see more of you the next time.  More players = even more prizes and bigger jackpot!

Countdown to Christmas - 9 months

For the past few years I have been posting Christmas cards on the 25th of each month.  My hope is that you will use them for inspiration to make a few Christmas cards throughout the year, so that when December comes - you (and I) will have a nice stack of handcrafted cards to send out to your friends and family.

Below are some swaps from a Stampin' Up! event I attended last fall.  Some of the stamp sets and Designer Series Paper used on these cards have retired - but I'm sure you could substitute stamps and DSP that you might have.
