New In Colors: 2025-2027

One of the most exciting things about the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog is seeing the new In Colors.  These are five colors that are added to the "core" color collection every year and will remain in  the collection for two years.  This year' s colors are Cloud Cover, Timid Tiger, Darling Duckling, Strawberry Slush, and Secret Sea.  I used these card stock colors to do the "color blocking" and matting on these cards.

I have used this card layout several times - where I take four pieces of paper and cut into strips vertically and then horizontally.  I wasn't really measuring when I cut the pieces - and didn't realize that I actually cut them the same!  As you can see in the photo above - the top two solid color layers are both long pieces and the bottom two layers are shorter.  For the bottom two cards - I mixed up the pieces so that the same size pieces were NOT next to each other.   It just goes to show you that you can cut the pieces any way you want - and just rearrange them into a pleasining arrangement.

For my very first card - I used the dark blue Secret Sea color as the card base.  It looks nice - that dark color is striking!  But for the other cards I decided to use a white card base - and use the dark blue as a mat layer.  I just had to trim the pieces a little smaller to get the small border showing all around and between the pieces.

For all of the cards, I cut a piece of Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper with a Secret Sea mat - and layered it in the center of the card.  I added various greeting and embellishments to the cards.

After I made the first card, I decided it could use a little something more.  So ran the card stock pieces through and embossing folder.  It adds a nice detail to the cards.

Then, another idea I had was to use Versamark Ink on the card stock pieces;  I stamped a small floral image around the outside of the car stock pieces.  That adds another pretty detail to the card.

This is a card that you can make with any colors for any occasion.  I hope you will give it a try.

Happy New Year!

Happy 2024!  I don't know what happened to 2023 but here I am AGAIN - at the beginning of a new year - hoping to get back to sharing my Stampin' Up! projects on a regular basis.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will bookmark my blog and visit often.  You can also find me on Facebook, You Tube, and Pinterest - but I hope to use my blog for sharing measurements and directions for making some of my projects.

For these New Year's cards I used a past Paper Pumpkin kit (July 2020: Summer Nights.)  I actually had this kit in my "Prize Box" to give away!  But when I went to make this card - it came to mind, and I pulled it out and this is what I came up using just one of the stamps in the kit.

As you can see - in one verson I included the year, die cut from a set of retired alphabet dies.  But we do have the Alphabet A La Mode dies in the 2023-24 annual catalog - which would work.

These cards are also made using three of the 2022-24 In Colors: Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, and Tahitian Tide - which will be retiring at the end of April.  If you like these bright, fun colors - be sure to purchase the ink pad, refills, card stock, and any Designer Series Paper, ribbon, and embellishments with these colors before they are gone!

You might think you have plenty of time to get these products - but as we get closer to April, the products will be while supplies last - and may not be available towards the end of the catalog selling period.

January is a great time to stock up on these items - because with each $50 purchase, you will be able to select a Sale-a-Bration for FREE!  I will post information on January 4, when the promotion begins.

Finally, I have a tip for you!  When you are finished with your Stampin' Dimensionals - don't throw away those bits from the edges!  They are great for popping up any elements on your card front - to give it extra dimension.  But they especially work great for smaller odd shaped pieces like the numbers on my card.

Once again - thanks for stopping by and here's wishing you a happy, healthy new year - full of stamping!

Happy New Year - again!

It always seems like a new year when a new Stampin' Up! annual catalog appears!  This card features one of the brand new 2023-2025 In Colors, Boho Blue.  This is a quick and simple card that I made using the 2023-25 In Color Designer Series Paper and the Dainty Delight stamp set.

I made a video showing how easy it is to make this card - and 5 other cards using the same products. You can only see the video in the "2 Sisters Stamping" Facebook Group.  Be sure to ask to join the private group where my sister, Donna, and I are sharing a "Card a Day in May."   We are sharing projects we made using products from the new catalog and will be giving away the card that we feature each day.  We are also offering $20 Bundles - where you can purchase a sampling of some of the products we feature.

Hope to see you over there!

Pansy Petals

Here are several cards that I made using the 2021-2023 In Colors card stock & ribbon, and the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.  This paper coordinates perfectly with the new In Colors, and these cards came together quickly.

I started with a piece of Designer Series Paper, cut off a one inch piece and flipped it over to the other side.  The designs on the back are a more solid looking print - and coordinate perfectly with the front side.  I glued both pieces to a coordinating piece of card stock, wrapped ribbon around that layer - then layered it on to a card base.  I added a greeting stamped on Basic White and punched out with the Tailored Tag punch.  These were eally quick and easy cards that can be used for any occasion.

Below are up close photos of each card.

The card above has a Pale  Papaya layer and Evening Evergreen card base and ribbon.  The sentinemnt is from Dragonfly Garden.

The card above uses Evening Evergreen card stock for the mat, and Soft Succulent for the card base and ribbon.  The sentiment is from a new stamp set, Inspired Thoughts.

The card above uses a Basic White mat with Fresh Freesia card base.  The sentiment is from Free As a Bird.

The card above has a Basic White layer and Polished Pink card base.  The sentinment is from Best Year.

Finally, this card has a Basic White card stock layer and the card base is Pale Papaya.  The sentiment is from Inspired Thoughts..

The New In Color Collection

These are the first cards I made with the new 2021-23 In Color Collection.  All of these colors are gorgeous in real life - and they work so well togehter.  These cards show you how well the card stock, ink, ribbon, and embellishements all match perfectly!

For all of  these cards, I started with a Basic White thick card base, then added a layer of  In Color card stock.  I cut a piece of Basic White card stock using the largest scallop rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  The stamped images are from the Tasteful Touches stamp set.  I added ribbon and jewels to each card.

For this card I embossed the Polished Pink card stock layer using the Ornate Floral 3D embossing foler.

I did not use an embossing folder on the card on the left (Pale Papaya.)  For the card on the right (Fresh Freesia) I used the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

Finally, for the dark green (Evening Evergreen) card, I used the Evergreem Forest 3D embossing folder.  The greetings on these two cards are from a new stamp set called, Inspired Thoughts. The new light green color is called Soft Succulent.

I have made several more sets of cards using products from the new Stampin' Up! annual catalog - and I have an order in for even MORE new products.  So be sure to check back, or sign up to be notified when I post to my blog.

Below are products that I used to make these cards.  Click on any item to add it to your shopping cart or wish list.
