Saturday Sketch #6

Here's a card I made - using a sketch challenge from a demonstrator training group I am in.  If you are in a creative slump - following a sketch might be the thing that will get you out of it!  I knew I wanted to use the Toadstool Gardens Designer Series Paper for this card.  I'm not a fan of toadstools - so I used a pattern from what I consider the "back" side of the paper.  I went looking through my sets of dies that are currently availabe to purchase - and I found a set from the annual catalog that I had never even opened!  They are part of the Textured Floral bundle.  I cut the three "greenery" pieces from Soft Sea Foam, Fresh Freesia, and Melon Mambo card stock. I originally used Granny Apple Green instead of Soft Sea Foam - since that was the green coordinating color for this pack of paper.  But I thought it was too bright.  Now that I'm looking at the card - maybe the Melon Mambo is a bit too bright as well.  What do you think?  This card could be made with any color combination.  I will have to play with it some more to see what I can come up with!  I added a few shimmer gems to the bottom right corner of the card.

Below is the sketch that I used to make my card.

The Toadstool Garden paper is an item you can choose for FREE with a qualifying order from my online store - through February 28, or while supplies last.

Saturday Sketch #4

Here's another card I made for a sketch challenge.  This is a quick and easy card to make - my favorite kind of card!  I used two Sale-a-Bration products to make this card: Toadstool Gardens 6x6 Designer Series Paper, and Pick a Season Photopolymer stamp set.  Both products are pictured below and you can choose either one with a $60 order from now through February 28, 2025.  There are many other items you can choose for free  with a qualifying order, so be sure to check them all out HERE and HERE.

Here is the sketch I used to make my card:

Measurements for the card (inches):

Melon Mambo card base: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2; scored at 4-1/4
Designer Paper: 4 x 2-3/4
White: 2-3/4 x 4

  • I rounded the corners of the white piece using a corner rounder punch.
  • I used a retired Paper Pumpkin stamp for the Greeting
  • The ink colors I used are Granny Apple Green, Pecan Pie, and Melon Mambo.
  • I added a bit of sparkle using Wink of Stella on the hearts.
  • I popped up the white piece using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Heart Shaped Bundle

I made this card using the Heart Shaped Bundle (pictured below) - which is a set of stamps and coordinating dies that you can choose for free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration (now through February 28, 2025.)  This could be the perfect Valentine's Day card for someone special - or it can also be used for a wedding or anniversay by switching out the colors.  I used Real Red card stock for the card base and one layer.  The flowers and mat are made using Pretty in Pink card stock.  I embossed the white layer using the Starstruck embossing folder which is another Sale-a-bration item.

The card above is absolutely the sweetest in Real Life!  I embossed a piece of our new Two-Tone 12 x 12 card stock with the Eyelet 3D embossing folder.  Then I took a sanding sponge and lightly sanded on the embossing - which reveals the white inner core of this card stock.  So pretty!  I stamped the heart image using Pretty in Pink ink - then layered the Soft Sea Foam die cut directly on the stamped image.  The greeting on this card is from the Heart Shaped stamp set and I used a retired punch to make the label.  The white ribbon is a beautiful iridescent - adding a bit of elegance to the card.

I stamped the heart on this card using Summer Splash ink, and the heart was die cut from Pretty Petunia glimmer paper.

I think these two cards are stunning in their simplicity.  I used Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper to die cut the hearts.  This pack of paper is another item you could choose for FREE during Sale-a-bration, with a qualifying order.

Now is the perfect time to stock up on your basics - and splurge on some new stamp sets and dies, so that you can choose one or more of the Sale-a-bration items I featured today.
