Saturday Sketch #18

Here is the card that I made using the weekly sketch from a demonstrator training group I am in.  I wanted to make a card using the new Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper.  This paper is an Online Exclusive - which means it is not featured in any printed catalog.  Please do not miss out on these items - there are some really great products - available online only.  New products were just released in May and there will be more new ones coming in July!

Be sure to check out all of the Online Exclusives by CLICKING HERE.

To make this card, I cut a 2 x 12 inch strip of DSP, then I cut out the two banner pieces by using Nested Essential Dies.  I trimmed the remaining piece of DSP to use as the green accent piece.  I used a white card base and added an embossed layer on top, before layering on my DSP pieces.  The greeting is from from the Sharing, Loving, Crafting stamp set.  I used various circle punches and the Round we Go dies to make the label.  These dies were in the old catalog, not in the new one, but they are still available online.  It's a great set to have, even if you don't buy the coordinating stamp set!  I finished off the card with In Color Flat Pearls and a touch of Wink of Stella on the word "Brighten."

Here is the sketch I used to make my card:

Saturday Sketch #14

Did you know that Stampin' Up! includes sketches in its catalogs?  For today's card, I used a sketch that I found on page 22 of the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog.  Even though there is a new catalog coming out soon - be sure to save your current catalog and use these sketches for inspiration!  I just recently started using card sketches - and I find them very helpful when I have new products and I'm not sure what to do with them!

This card uses products that will be coming in the new annual catalog - so I can't post links to them quite yet!  But there are still a lot of things to purchase from MY ONLINE STORE.  Make sure to check out the LAST CHANCE LIST for some great deals on retiring items. Items from this section are while supplies last - and will NOT be re-stocked.  While you are looking around my online store - don't forget to take a look at the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES.  These are products that you will not see in any catalog.  There are some really awesome products there, too.  You may order online yourself (please choose me as your demonstrator) or contact me if you'd like me to place your order.

BEGINNING APRIL 15, 2025 - you will earn Stampin' Rewards for orders you place online (minimum $20 product purchase.)  Just create an online account and then "opt in" to the rewards program.  I will have more details after the 15th - when the program begins.

Below is the sketch (with measuerments!) that I used to make my card.  I just rotated the card to the landscape position.  I also added a mat under the stamped image - just to make it pop!

Saturday Sketch #12

Here's a card I made - using a sketch challenge from a demonstrator training group I am in.  If you are in a creative slump - following a sketch might be the thing that will get you out of it.  I have been making a lot of cards using the Spotlight on Nature stamp set and dies - before they retire.  This card is just my style - quick and easy as well as monochromatic!

I made a stencil using the new "Meant to Bee" dies.  Then I used a blending brush to add color to the white panel.  I inked up the floral image from the stamp set and stamped over the blue hexagon shape.  I wrapped black baker's twine around the white layer, added the greeting and layered it on a Balmy Blue layer and then a white card base.

Below is the sketch that I used to make my card.

Here are some of the products I used to make today's card.  Click on any image to add it to your shopping cart in my online store.  Don't wait to order the Spotlight on Nature bundle!  It will most likely go on the Last Chance list soon!

For the Books

I made all of these projects using the "For the Books" bundle from Stampin' Up!  It was one of the first sets I purchased from the Jan/Apr 2025 mini catalog - yet I hadn't inked it up!  I'm not sure why I waited so long!  Once I started I could not stop playing with this bundle!

Below is the card I featured on Saturday's blog post.  I made it following a sketch.  I stamped the books on a scrap of Basic White card stock - then cut them with scissors and attached them to a piece of Country Woods desigenr paper.  The other patterned paper on this card is from Timeless Plaid, another product from the Jan/April 2025 mini.

Next I made this quick and easy card.  I cut a strip of Country Woods designer paper to make a shelf - then stamped each of the book images directly on the white card base.  I colored the books using water color pencils. Don't you just love the addition of the eyeglasses?  That stamp is inlcuded in this stamp set.

Next I made another quick and easy card.  I stamped one of the book images on the Melon Mambo card base using Versamark ink.  This gives it the "tone on tone" look and adds interest to the card front.  I matted a piece of Full of Life.designer series paper, stamped a greeting, and added the die cut book to the front.

The cards below have the same layout but I used different colors of card stock and designer paper - to make one more masculine and one more feminine. For the one on the left, I stamped the books on a scrap of white, colored with pencils, fussy cut and attached to the card front.  For the card on the right I used the coordinating dies to add a book.  I punched out a scrap of designer paper to add to the book cover.

The project below is probably my favorite - a bookmark card.  I used one of the extra crafter's tips for the Take Your Pick tool - to make a perforated line - which will make the bookmark easy to detach and use.  What fun!

Finally, the last card is a Christmas card!  I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought it was so clever -  I had to give it a try!  I just stamped the book images in a tree shape, and colored them with three shades of green using colored pencils.

If you have any questions about these cards - please CONTACT ME.  I will share the 3D projects that I made with this bundle next week - so please check back to see them!
