June Stamp Club Project #1 and a Contest!

This is the card we made at stamp club this month. Here is a video tutorial for making one of your own! One thing I did differently, was to make the sliding part of the card measure 3 ¼ x 4 ¾. It makes it even a little more sturdy. If you make one yourself, just be sure not to get any adhesive on the sliding piece, when you are adhering the layers of your card together. I challenged my club members to make another card like this on their own, using any stamp set, cardstock, etc, and give/send it to me by my birthday on July18th. I will have another Stampin’ Up’ demonstrator choose a winner. The prize will be the winners’ choice of one of these stamp sets:

If you would like to enter this contest, just make a card using the Pop Up Slider Technique and mail it to me at Kathy Winter 1524 Birch Leaf Road Chesapeake, VA 23320. Make sure it gets to me by July 18th. Good Luck and thanks for looking.

School's Out!

I made several of these cards for Ben's teachers using the Tart and Tangy stamp set. (The patterned paper is non Stampin' Up.) The orange spins around to reveal a strawberry. But the best part of this card (in my opinion) is the inside where there is a gift card to Tropical Smoothie Cafe! Yummy! Thanks for looking. I hope to post more often now that school is out and the kids activities are over.

Join Hands Day

Today was “Join Hands Day” at my church. Several other churches in the area joined us to make 400 all occasion cards to send to military personnel overseas. The soldiers/ sailors will use them to send greetings back home to their friends and families. I was responsible for designing the cards, ordering the supplies (from Stampin’ Up of course!) and prepping 400 cards. I also taught several non-stampers how to make the cards. There were about 20 people there……..so if you do the math, you know they cranked out some cards in just a few hours! These are some of the cards that I prepped for the event. It was a lot of fun and we have over 50 packs of cards to send to the troops.

True Blue Friend & Happy Birthday Donna!

Today is my big sister’s birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DONNA!!!! She is a “virtual” member of my stamping club, since it is a little difficult for her to join us at meetings, since she lives in Pennsylvania and I live in Virginia! I guess I should have posted the card I sent her……..but instead I am posting the card that I made for my stamp club members this month. Most of them have been part of my stamp club for a year now, and I wanted to let them know how much their friendship means to me. June will be the last meeting for this club, but I am hoping they will all want to keep on stamping with me. I have so many ideas and techniques that I still want to share with them.
Recipe
Stamp Set: Punches Three (Retired Hostess Set)
Ink: Baja Breeze
Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Whisper White

Photo Wallet

I thought this photo wallet would be a great project for upcoming Girl Scout Bridging Ceremonies. For those of you that don’t know………a Bridging ceremony is when the girls move from one level of Girl Scouting to the next. I made this one as a sample, using photos from several years ago, when my troop bridged from Juniors to Cadettes at the Virginia Beach Ocean Front. It was really special, since the girls planned the entire event themselves. I still need to add some journaling or more photos. Thanks for looking!
