12 Frightfully Cute Halloween Cards

Here are several cards that I made using the Frightfully Cute bundle (Frightfully Cute stamp set and Frightful tags dies) from the current mini catalog from Stampin' Up!  The cards above and the little treat pouch feature the "Cute Halloween" pack of 6x6 designer paper.  I love the paper - its not scary at all - just fun and cute.

In the photo below you will see more cards that I made using this bundle.  I had fun making all of these cards - but especially love how the two "fun fold" cards came together - and will post videos showing you how I made them very soon.  The card in the lower right corner uses the back side of the designer paper; some of it is not even Halloween themed - which is why I turned it into an elegant birthday card!

I featured all of these cards in the 2 Sisters Stamping private Facebook Group.  My sister, Donna, and I had a lot of fun sharing projects made using products from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  We gave away lots of prizes and offered some great ordering specials.  If you are not a member of that group - be sure to ask to join so you won't miss our next Virtual events.

Below are some of the products I used to make my cards.

Halloween Slimline Cards - video tutorial

Slimline cards are all over Pinterest.  At a recent ZOOM meeting with my demonstrator friends, we each made a slimline card for our "show and tell" part of the meeting.  I used the Banner Year stamp set and Magic in this Night Designer Series paper for my card.  This size card will fit into a regular business size envelope - and can be mailed using regular first class postage - unless the card weighs over 1 oz or is too thick.

Below is the video tutorial for making a slimline card like this. The card in the video has slightly different measurements - to get more cards from your 12x12 paper. Measurements for both cards are litsted at the end of this post. (If you are viewing this in your email - you may need to click on the post title to load the video.)

**FYI - the Starburst punch I use in the video is no longer available in the Clearance Rack.**

If you look closely at the photos - you can see that the cards on the left are made with a slightly larger piece of Designer Series Paper.  The card on the right uses a smaller piece of DSP - to get more cards from one sheet of 12x12 paper.  The measurements for both cards are listed below.

Measurements for the card on the left are printed in BLACK.
Measurements for the card on the right are printed in RED
  • Card Base : 8" x 9" scored in half at 4
  • Designer Series Paper:3 1/4 x 8 1/4 or 3 x 8
  • Card stock behind DSP: 3 3/8 x 8 3/8 or 3-1/4 x 8-1/4
  • DSP strip: 1 1/2 x 4 or 1-1/4 x4
  • Card stock behind DSP: 1 3/4 x 4 or 1-1/2 x 4
  • 2 inch circle punch and Starburst punch (retired) for greeting
Below are some of the products featured in the video.  Click on any image for more information and to add the item to your shopping bag.

Happy Halloween!

Now that my children are grown,  I 'm not really into celebrating Halloween - but I did make some treats to give to the children in my preschool class.  These were made with the retired Fry Box Big Shot die and a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set.  Just a little something to let them know that I am "bats" about them.

This little box of Hershey  kisses is also a gift card holder.  I plan to give this to my teaching assistant to let her know how much I appreciate everything she does for me. Of course I will stick a gift card in that area where you see the half circle opening. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube showing how to make this type of treat box/card.  The one I followed was by BJ Peters.  I used Pumpkin Pie card stock and the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! to make this card.  The "No Tricks Just Treats" stamp is from October's PAPER PUMPKIN KIT.

I can't express how much I love the monthly Paper Pumpkin kits that show up in my mail box each month.  Not only is it fun to get something besides JUNK in my mailbox - but each kit comes with everything needed for a quick and fun Creative Escape!

Today is the last day to get a pack of FREE Designer Series Paper.  CLICK HERE for all the details. and to place your order online.

At my October stamp club classes, my stampers chose to make one of the following cards:

I like to give my stampers a choice - so that they make a card they like and will (hopefully) use.  All of these cards were made using the Happy Scenes stamp set by Stampin' Up! This stamp set has a lot of images and greetings for the fall and winter holidays.  WARNING - it will be retiring soon - so if you want it, you better buy it before it is gone!  You can save 15% when you bundle it with the Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies.

Among the Branches Bundle

At my September stamp club meetings, my stampers chose which of the following cards they wanted to make.  All three cards were made using the stamp set Among the Branches and the Woodland textured impressions embossing folder from Stampin' Up!

This first Halloween card was sent to me by my upline, Susan Elise Morton. You may not be able to see it in the photo, but the trees have a touch of glitter along the edges.
Below is an Autumn card using the same stamp set and embossing folder.
And here is the Christmas card.
You can purchase the stamp set and embossing folder together in a bundle for only $21.50 (item #140872.)  That is an awesome price for supplies that you can use to make cards for three holidays.

Below are two more versions of the card - an Autumn one , using Into the Woods Designer Series Paper:
And a Christmas one using Season of Cheer designer series paper:

September Stamp Club Projects

My October stamp club classes are coming up this weekend, so I think it's about time that I show you what we created at our September classes!  We usually make two cards and one 3D item.  But I had so many new products and a cool technique for everyone to try out - so everyone made 3 cards this month (and no 3D item.)

Everyone made a Gate fold card (either Halloween, Autumn, or Christmas theme), a card using the new Woodlands Embossing Folder (choice of same themes) and a card using the Bokeh technique..

I think everyone enjoyed making these projects.  If you missed club, or are not a regular attendee of our monthly gatherings, then CONTACT ME to arrange a private class for you and a few friends!

October Stamp Club Project

Everyone who came to one of my October stamp club meetings made one of these cute boxes!  They are all made with the new Curvy Keepsakes Box Thinlits Die from Stampin' Up!  These boxes are so quick and easy to make.  We had an interesting discussion about whether the bird was an owl or a turkey!  I CASED all these projects from Pinterest.  Visit MY PINTEREST BOARD to see over 50 cute projects you can make with this die.   The jack o' lantern was made with vellum and when you put an electric tea light inside - it glows!  Really cute!  The others are big enough to hold several pieces of wrapped candy.  Below are close up views of each box.

August Club Card #2

Below are two versions of a Halloween card we made at my August Stamp club meetings.  We used the stamp set, Holiday Home, from the 2014 Holiday Catalog and the Homemade Holiday Framelits Dies (to cut out the house.)
The main difference between these cards is how we made the haunted house.  The first house was stamped on Whisper White card stock and colored using Smokey Slate Blendabilities markers.
The second house was stamped onto Basic Gray AND Daffodil Delight card stock.  I cut the windows out of the Daffodil card stock and glued them on the Basic Gray cardstock.

Most of my club members chose to use the Blendabilities.  These markers are FABULOUS for showing depth and dimension when coloring an image.

Halloween Flip Card

We made this flip card at my October stamp club meetings, using the new Circle Card Thinlits Die and the Big Shot.  This is a WOW! card that is super simple to make.  We adhered the Witches' Brew Designer Series Paper to the card stock first and cut both layers at the same time.  The die will cut and score the paper so all you do is fold!  We used the stamp set Halloween Hello to stamp the witch, greeting, and candlesticks (on the back of the moving section.)  We made the moon by making a stencil using a circle punch and a scrap of card stock and then sponging on the yellow (Summer Starfruit) ink right on top of the image of the witch.

Below is the same card but with a different pattern of Witches'Brew Designer Series Paper.  I added some orange ink (Pumpkin Pie) to the moon and also sponged around the edges of the white card stock circle.
