Celebrate!

Here are two cards I made for recent grads. Everything except the card stock is retired Stampin' Up! product - so I won't go into details about how I made them.  They were pretty easy to make - except those tassels were a bit of a pain.  I know I have retired Stampin' Up! tassles somewhere in my craft room - but since I've reorganized my craft supplies - I can't find them!   I'm glad that I held on to the "Go Graduate" stamp set and the "Celebrate You" dies.

Monday night was my first Zoom class.  We did a mini One Sheet Wonder class and I think everyone enjoyed it.  Below are my original sample cards (the red poppies) and the set that I made at class (pink/blue flowers.)

My next Zoom class will be on Friday night July 17.  We will be celebrating my birthday (which is the following day) by playing BINGO and making several birthday cards!  Below are the details of the event.  EMAIL ME NOW if you would like to come!  Invite a friend!  Because this is an online event - you can be anywhere is the USA to attend!  I will mail the card kit and Bingo cards to you for FREE!

Congrats Grad - part 2

Here are two of the graduation cards I made this year. They were inspired by Pinterest, but I tweaked them a bit.  I wanted to include a gift card or check (we debated about whether the HS grads would even know what to do with a check!)

I made them the colors of the graduation announcement that we received.  For the first one, I used a quarter sheet (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) of Real Red card stock and glued a thick whisper white card (cut a little narrower) to the red card stock. The letters were cut using the Large Letters framelits and the "congrats" was cut from the SUNSHINE WISHES THINLITS DIES.  The balloons were punched from silver foil paper and red glimmer paper.

I used a retired greeting inside, and made an area where I could tuck in a check.

For the purple and gold card I used a half sheet of the new Gorgeous Grape cardstock, and cut the white piece to leave a 1/8 inch border.  Although I usually add embellishments in "threes", I thought the 2 balloons off to the right looked better.
This time I put the check on the top inside of the card, and added a graduation hat from a retired set.

Congrats Grad

I had three graduation cards to make this year - and this is what I came up with - thanks to some inspiration from Pinterest.

The first one was for a graduate from the Virginia Military Institute.
This card was made using the VMI colors, the large number thinlits, and retired stamp sets.  Sadly, the large number thinlits just retired in May.

Speaking of retired.....I will have lots of retired Stampin' Up! products for sale at my Catalog Kick Off event on Saturday June 16th.  I want to introduce you to Stampin' Up!'s new colors.  They did a complete "refresh" with the new catalog.  Although I will miss some of the colors that retired - there are many new colors that I love.  AND some of my past favorite In Colors have come back as part of the Core Collection.

Please visit  MY WEBSITE for more information about my catalog kick off event.

Check back on Monday for details about the other graduation cards.

If you choose to place a minimum $30 order BEFORE June 16th using the hostess code: FX6CAQGS you may attend the catalog launch for FREE!

If you are out of the area, I will send you the completed projects we make at the event, with a minimum $30 catalog order placed before June 16th.

Hoping for an Early Spring

As I'm writing this (to post later) we are in our third day of being snowed in - here in Chesapeake, Virginia.  We had about 10 inches of snow - and three days later the roads are still icy and snow covered.  Snow is so rare in this area - and so the cities will clear the major roads - but neighborhood roads reply on Mother Nature to melt them.  And with temps in the teens - that won't be anytime soon!

So I've enjoyed several days stuck at home stamping, and planning for upcoming events, and going back through old projects that I never posted on my blog.  These are projects from my April 2017 stamp club classes.  We were getting ready to launch a new Stampin' Up! catalog - so I used some retiring products as well as new In Colors.

The cards above use one of my favorite techniques - using Versamark ink to stamp a "watermark" image on the background.  Do you see the little baby booties and flowers on these cards?  I think it  adds a little more interest to the cards.

The cards above were made using the "new" 2017-2018 In Colors.  With every annual catalog launched in June, Stampin' Up! introduces 5 new colors.  These colors tend to be more trendy and fill in some of the color gaps in our regular collection of card stock and ink colors.  We made these quick and easy cards using punches that are now retired.

Finally, the cards below are gift cards.  I needed a graduation card, but gave my customers the option of  making a Weddding or Anniversary card.  For the graduation card, the gift card just tucks into a little pocket fold.  For the "love" card, we added an insert using Designer Series Paper, that  makes the gift card pop up when the card is opened.

Congrats to my Grad!

I'm a little late posting this card - but what's new?!  This is the card I made for my son's high school graduation (back in June.)  When he opened it up - this is what he found inside:

This was a quick and easy card to make (yes - I made it the morning of his graduation!)  The hardest part was making the tassel - but that wasn't even too hard.  Here is a photo of our happy family!

Below is one of the thank you notes I made for Ben.  I used mostly retired Stampin' Up! products.  But the design layout is a quick and easy one to reproduce.

Congratulations!

At my stamp club classes in May, everyone made a book mark using Stampin' Up!'s new In Colors card stock.  I printed the color names on a 2" strip of card stock.  Everyone punched out butterflies using the matching card stock colors.  The top was punched using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch and the bottom was punched using the NEW Banner Triple punch.

I went on Pinterest to look for some more project ideas using the Banner Triple punch.   I found this cute card by Dawn's Stamping Thoughts.  It was actually made using the Banners Framelits Dies.  I just loved this design - especially since it was just graduation season.  This would be perfect to recreate in the grad's school colors.  So this ended up being the THIRD card we made at club - with a few changes to how the banners were cut.
