Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Class Projects

These are the projects we made at my stamp classes last weekend.  The cards were made using the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set and/or Small Bloom Punch: both are Sale-a-Bration items that you can earn for FREE with a qualifying purchase through March 2020.

The first card we made was this simple black/white card with punched flowers using the 2018-2020 In Colors from Stampin' Up!'s annual catalog.  It may be simple and very easy to make - but it is striking in real life and can be used for any occasion. You can learn how I made these cards by CLICKING HERE.

The card above was made using Blueberry Bushel products from the 2018-2020 In Color family.   I love making monochromatic cards - and when using Stampin' Up! products, they always look great because of the color coordination.

These In Colors will retire at the end of May - but in the past many In Color products have sold out before the end of the catalog selling period.  So be sure to purchase any of these items before they are gone!

Measurements for this card:

Thick Whisper White card base (8 1/2 x 5 1/2; scored in half at 4 1/4)
Patterned Paper: 4 x 5 1/4
Blueberry Bushel card stock mat is cut using the largest scalloped rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly dies
Whisper White piece for stamping: 3 3/4 x 2 9/16

Check my blog on Monday to see a video tutorial showing exactly how I made this card!

August Stamp Club Cards1 & 2

This is one of the cards we made at my August stamp club classes.  It is made using the Floral Essence stamp set and Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!  This is an easy card to make - yet it is a beauty and anyone would love to receive it.  The photo below shows the inside of the card and the envelope.  I stamped both of them using the same floral image that was stamped on the card front.

At my August stamp clubs, we made two projects from three different stamp sets.  The second card using the Floral Essence stamp set was one of the note cards in the photo above.  Everyone chose the color they wanted to use to make their card.

I show you how easy it is to make a card like this HERE.

Purchase the Floral Essence stamp set, a pack of notecards, and two blends from my online store, and I will send the the card stock needed to make 4 cards.

Below are some of the products used to make the cards above.  Click on any image below to purchase the item from my online store!

These are the cards that we made at my August 2018 stamp classes.  They are all made using the Lemon Zest stamp set from Stampin' Up!

The top (orange) card was one that I made for a friend's birthday a few weeks ago.  I posted the card on my blog earlier.  CLICK HERE to see it up close - and to see the special greeting inside the card.

The other two cards gave me a chance to show case some of the new Stampin' Up! colors, including Pineapple Punch and Granny Apple Green.

Still using my "snow days" to catch up on posting past stamp club projects.  We made the projects above at my May 2017 stamp club classes.  The Annual Stampin' Up! catalog was coming to and end - and we made 4 cards using Designer Series Paper that was retiring (and is currently retired.)  Plus, I added a bonus project using a new stamp set, This Little Piggy.

The cards above were made with Father's Day in mind using the Guy Greetings stamp set.

The cards above were used using the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.  The design of this card is great for using up leftover Designer Series Paper.

The stamp set used on this card is retired - but the design is an easy one to copy using any greeting that you may already have.

The card above was made using one of Stampin' Up!'s note cards and more retired Designer Series Paper.  We covered the entire front of the note card as well as the flap of the envelope.  Makes a cute card!
Finally, this is a card that used a current set, This Little Piggy, from the 2017-18 Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  I get most of my inspiration for cards from Pinterest, but then "tweak" them by using different techniques depending on what stamps and/or products I have.  I also like to offer my stamp club members different options, so that they can make a card that they like and one that they might end up sending someone!

PLEASE CONTACT ME if you would like more information about my stamp classes.  I am always looking for new friends to join the fun!

Who Can Resist Embossing?!

It seems like every January I say I want to blog more often - and so here I go again!    We are up to 5 missed days of school due to our recent snow storm - so I've had time to go back and post some past projects from my stamp club classes.  These cards were made back in March 2017.  They are all made using different heat embossing techniques.

This card uses what I consider "regular" heat embossing.  I stamped the floral image and the words (from Flourishing Phrases stamp set) on white card stock using Versamark ink.  Then I sprinkled gold embossing powder over the ink, shook off the extra, and then heat set it using Stampin' Up!'s heat tool.  If you look closely you can also see where I stamped the floral image on the purple card stock using Versamark - to give it a watermark look, which adds an extra detail and interest to the card.

The cards above and below were both made using the Embossed Resist technique.  First I stamped the floral and leaf images on a piece of glossy white card stock.  I used Versamark ink and white embossing  powder.  After I heat embossed and the card stock was cool, I used sponges to add color to the card stock.  The ink will not stick on the embossed images.  I did take a tissue and rubbed across the embossed areas - just to make sure any specks of ink were removed.  I added a mat of gold foil card stock and heat embossed the greeting on Vellum.  The cards below have a Melon Mambo card stock mat and the words are stamped and embossed on Melon Mambo.

The final card was made to show that you can heat emboss in any of the Stampin' Up! colors.  You just have to be quick: stamp the image using our new firm foam ink pads and emboss immediately using clear embossing powder.

If you would like to learn new stamping techniques, then please CONTACT ME for more information about my stamp classes.

Hoping for an Early Spring

As I'm writing this (to post later) we are in our third day of being snowed in - here in Chesapeake, Virginia.  We had about 10 inches of snow - and three days later the roads are still icy and snow covered.  Snow is so rare in this area - and so the cities will clear the major roads - but neighborhood roads reply on Mother Nature to melt them.  And with temps in the teens - that won't be anytime soon!

So I've enjoyed several days stuck at home stamping, and planning for upcoming events, and going back through old projects that I never posted on my blog.  These are projects from my April 2017 stamp club classes.  We were getting ready to launch a new Stampin' Up! catalog - so I used some retiring products as well as new In Colors.

The cards above use one of my favorite techniques - using Versamark ink to stamp a "watermark" image on the background.  Do you see the little baby booties and flowers on these cards?  I think it  adds a little more interest to the cards.

The cards above were made using the "new" 2017-2018 In Colors.  With every annual catalog launched in June, Stampin' Up! introduces 5 new colors.  These colors tend to be more trendy and fill in some of the color gaps in our regular collection of card stock and ink colors.  We made these quick and easy cards using punches that are now retired.

Finally, the cards below are gift cards.  I needed a graduation card, but gave my customers the option of  making a Weddding or Anniversary card.  For the graduation card, the gift card just tucks into a little pocket fold.  For the "love" card, we added an insert using Designer Series Paper, that  makes the gift card pop up when the card is opened.

Merry Christmas!

I hope you are enjoying Christmas Day with your loved ones.  Today I want to show you the cards I made and mailed out this year.  I always seem to get a late start for some reason.  The card above was sent out in the first mailing.  It is a Z-fold card using the Merry Mistletoe stamp set and the Be Merry Designer Series paper from the 2017-18 Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  Below is what the card looks when it is opened.

The card below is the second card I mailed out to family and friends.  We also made this in one of my stamp classes.  It is made using the Painted Harvest stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s 2017 holiday catalog.  Luckily, it is being carried over - so if you missed purchasing this awesome set, it will still be available in the new year.  I also used the Holly embossing folder on this card.  The greeting comes from the Merry Mistletoe stamp set.

The cards below were made at my December stamp club classes.  I wanted to use some of the products that will be retiring on January 2.  The foil snowflakes (item 144642) that are used on both cards below are super fun to use on your projects.  The snowflake embossing folder is also on the retiring list, as well as the Designer Series paper used on both cards.
