Make it for Mother

Do you still need a gift for a special mother in your life?  I have 3 seats remaining in my Saturday class where we will be making this 8" x 8" sampler.  It can easily be adapted for a friend - or maybe you would like to make it for yourself!

Class fee is $15 or make two for $25.  The frame is not included, so that you can buy a frame that you like.  The sampler can also be matted to fit a 12 x 12 frame.

Class time is 10 am.  Class will be held at my house.   Stampin' Up! punches make this class super easy and great for beginners.

Birthday Boy

To stay with this month's theme of birthday cards....below is a card that my friend, Connie, made for her grandson earlier this year.
Open it up and look what's inside!  How cute is that?  What little boy would not love this card?

One More Gift Tag and Bag

Here is one last gift bag I made for the baby shower I recently attended.  I teach preschool at my church and it is our pastor's wife who is having a baby.  I wanted to give a gift of books from my class, and since my classroom is decorated in an owl theme, I knew I had tp make an owl gift bag.  I saw the idea on Pinterest, of course! (Kay Kalthoff)  I had all the kids sign the back of the bag and then I made another punch art owl as a tag to let the pastor and his wife know the gift was from my class.

Below is a photo of the back of the bag and a close up of the tag.

Making it Match

Since THIS BABY SHOWER CARD did not match the wrapping paper for the gift, I decided to make a tag that did match.  I made an envelope using the Envelope Punch Board.  I took some of the wrapping paper and matching card stock and wrapped it around the envelope.  Then  I used lots of Stampin' Up! punches to make a fox and an owl that looked similar to the animals on the gift wrap.  I tucked the card into the envelope and tied it onto the package.  You can see how I tucked the card into the envelope here:
I wish I had taken a photo of the entire package with the tag attached.  It looked so cute!  I also made a punch art hedgehog to go on a tag for a tote of books we also gave to the baby.
Since I had a lot of wrapping paper left over, I think I will be making these cute punch animals again!

Happy New Year - part 2

I saw a card similar to this when I was looking at some other stamping blogs.  This was a quick and easy card to make.  The card uses Very Vanilla as the base.  The black shape is cut using the Big Shot and Labels Collection Framelits.  The stems of the glasses are made from vellum card stock using a tag punch.  The tops of the glasses are made from glimmer paper and a small oval punch (retired.)  The bubbles are rhinestones.  The greeting is from the  Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set - a set I find myself using all the time.  It has 24 greetings - something for just about every occasion you can imagine!  And they each work perfectly with the Word Window and Modern Label punches.

2013 Calendar Class

A group of stampers came over on Saturday morning to make this Calendar, which fits in a CD case.  By the end of the morning (or rather early afternoon!) we decided that the saying "Time flies when you are having fun!" is true!

It is a shame that we are almost halfway through January, because we will only be looking at this beautiful image for a few weeks, before we have to flip to February.

Below are the other pages we made for this year's calendar.

My friend and down line, Lynne, taught this class with me.  August and September were two of her designs and I was not being a good student when she was teaching us how to make these pages.  I guess I must have been talking too much because I stamped the August image on September and Septembers images on August.  Oops!  Sorry, Lynne!  And you might have noticed that December's page is missing!  Long story.........but hopefully I will have it to show to you soon.
