How to Make Your Own Custom-Sized Boxes

This is a box that we made at my stamp club classes back in September.  We started with a 12x12 sheet of card stock for the bottom of the box.  Then we cut Designer Series paper a little smaller so that when the lid was on - you can also see the card stock bottom.  It makes for a cute box for your Christmas gifts!

Watch the video below to see how to make this box, and how to adjust the size so that you can make a box that fits your gift perfectly!

Poinsettia Punch Art

This is one of the beautiful cards we made at my stamp club classes in August!  We made the poinsettia using the Festive Flower Punch by Stampin' Up!.  Watch the video below to see how easy it is to make one!

We used the clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add some sparkle to each petal.

My Eagle Scout!

I'm interrupting my regular blogging to brag a little bit about my son, Ben.  He earned the rank of Eagle Scout back in July for a garden renovation project he did at his old elementary school.  He really worked hard on the project and did it all on his own: from planning, fundraising, getting volunteers/donations, and organizing/directing the workers over the course of several days to complete the project.  He was even planning his awards ceremony with two friends who also made Eagle around the same time.

On the Sunday before the ceremony I got involved when one of the other moms decided centerpieces might jazz up the tables a bit.  I agreed - so I went home that night and searched Pinterest for ideas and this is what we came up with:

The other mom and I got together several times that week to make 22 of these, and even though I wasn't planning to get involved with the planning of the Court of Honor ceremony - I'm glad I did, because I think they turned out nice and added a little something to the event.

Then the morning of the ceremony(!) I decided that I probably should make Ben a card  so this is what I came up with:
Ben makes me proud every day - he is a great kid.  He gets good grades, stays out of trouble, and is already accepted to the Virginia Military Institute for the fall.  But having him ask me to help him make Thank You notes made me SOOOOOOOOOOOO happy!  Here he is stamping his cards:

Gift Card Treat Box

This was the 3D item we  made at my October Stamp Club Classes.  It is a cute treat box that holds Hershey Kisses - and there is a space for a gift card.  If you look closely you can see the slot where you can tuck a gift card behind the Designer Series Paper.  CLICK HERE to see another sample that I made as a Halloween Gift.

We made these cards at my October stamp club classes.  They were made using the leftover pieces from my SEPTEMBER PAPER PUMPKIN KIT.  I provided everyone with a card base, mat, and white piece of card stock.  We added some washi tape and other embellishments to jazz them up a bit!  Super quick and easy

Peace

This is one of the cards we made at my stamp club classes in October.

Stampin' Up! supplies used to make this card:
Card stock: Soft Sky, Thick Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink: Versamark, Soft Sky
Stamp Set: Holly Jolly Greetings
Accessories:  Clear Embossing Powder, Christmas Greetings Thinlits, Aqua Painter, Metallic Sequins

We stamped the snowflake image onto Thick Whisper White card stock using Versamark.  We heat embosses using Clear Embossing Powder.  Then we used an Aqua Painter to brush Soft Sky ink over the snowflake image.  The ink will not stick to the white embossing!  (We took a tissue to wipe off any excess ink.)  Wait for the ink to dry, or use your heat gun to speed the process up a bit.  Then you just need to adhere all the pieces to the card front.  A very simple but pretty card when you see it in person.  Adding a littlle Wink of Stella would make it shimmer even more!

Pop up Panel Card

We made this card at my November stamp club class.  I have seen all kinds of cards like this on Pinterest, and after watching several videos on You Tube I discovered that it was not really that hard to make.  It just takes accurate cutting, scoring, and folding.  I made this sample using the Moroccan Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up!  I used the "Number of Years" stamp set and the Large Numbers Framelits to cut out the "60" for the inside panels.  The Happy Birthday is also from the "Number of Years" stamp set and the "Celebrate!" on the front of the card is from the "Celebrate Today" stamp set.

Below is another card I made - also using the Moroccan Designer Series Paper,  This time I stamped the inside panels with different greetings, then signed the last panel.  (Yes - I actually gave this card away in trying to keep with my goal of # bringingbirthdaysback.)

If you would like to receive a card in the mail for YOUR birthday - please CONTACT ME me with you name, address and birthday.
